I believe Brockington and Seabron will be the surprise of the Summer League, both will probably play on our G-League team this year, but i truly believe one of them will earn a roster spot on the 2023 team next year.
The Pels seem to be loading up on wing players between the 6'6 and 6'9 range, that are interchangeable.

Seabron is on a 2way already. We still don't know what kind of contract EJ Liddell is getting. If it's a main roster spot then the Pels will probably give the 2nd 2 way contract to a Summer League standout, although not necessarily someone that played with us.

I understand Seabron is on a 2-way, my point is this will give him an opportunity to get a year under his belt playing with the big boys and next year i believe he will earn a roster spot.

A few years ago Steve Kerr said the league is all about getting as many versatile 6’8 guys as possible. Took us a while but we’re finally getting to that point.

Only issue with Seabron is how busted his shot is.

Hard to stick around in this league as a guard who can't shoot.

Guy with a busted shot who still finds a way to get to the hole and score is worth at least a two way deal.

Vinson fixes his shot and we have a slasher from hell for the bench.

Yeah. It would be better if he wasn't already 22 but herb was older and look what he was able to do. The guy is obviously gifted to score 17 a game without that threat of a shot. If he can get it at least reasonable, then he can play a while in this league. He also has the size and athleticism to be a good defender.

He can do that against some college players. He will have a tougher time doing that in the NBA if he is not a threat to shoot. Vinson is good, but he cannot fix everything.

I'm curious to see how well it translates too. I'd rather him be a plus defender than develop a shot if I had to choose. Imagine Tyreke with defense. That'd be a pretty useful player to have on a cheap contract off the bench.

Tyreke on a low contract would be good.

The problem with Tyreke was how much we paid him for what we got. He screwed our spacing and couldn’t stay healthy IIRC, while costing us guys like Sideshow Rob Lopez and Greivis to sign him.

I was just coming to say this. With the way he got to the rim in college I would put faith in that he'll figure it out in the NBA. The defense is the big question. If you can't defend, it's going to be hard to get on the court with Willie. Regardless if his shot progresses or not.

The problem with Tyreke was
him walking the friggin ball up every single play and wasting precious seconds off the 24-second clock while allowing the defense to get set. Coaches would yell at him to push the ball, and he wouldn't.

Drove me nuts.

Seabron has 6th man type of potential. I don’t know if his shot is salvageable at all or not but he did shot 71% from the stripe on over 6 attempts this past season. If he can learn to shoot at a 35% clip from deep, he would make a valuable rotational player off the bench.

Seabron can’t shoot but he also didn’t try to force those shots with a little over 1 attempt a game in college. Definitely worth the flyer to find out if he has the capacity to improve his shot.

He needs to develop a jump shot and midrange game. Nearly 80% of his shots were at the rim. Here is an interesting scouting report on him-

Thanks for the link. After watching some of his highlights my first thought was Kira is even less likely to be around long term now. He's on a 2 way for a reason, so I'm sure there are some flaws that weigh him down, but there also seems to be a lot to like.

Tyreke Evans vibes before Vinson taught him how to shoot. He is a bit longer which helps. Great at getting to the rim and finishing despite not having much bounce.

He has athleticism, but not in the traditional, he can put his head on the rim sense. I think this guy def is an nba player though. In a way, he also plays a bit like Zion. Obviously with much less athleticism.

We couldn’t have offered him a regular contract simply due to roster limits, so a 2 way works for us.

Given our history, he likely get converted to a regular contract at the end of the season if we have the space.

I like both players, that's why I predicted that one if not both will make next year's roster.
Both has good size, length and determination.

I agree on the athleticism. Someone brought up Westbrook but he doesn't look as vertically gifted as Westbrook. He looks like a supesized Kira, fastest man on the court, which works because with his size he doesn't need to be as vertically gifted as Kira needs to be. He also showed ability to shift speeds and change directions that I didn't expect. He was very crafty on his drives.
