It’s obvious what goes wrong at the end of games

Early in the game we share the ball and run the offense. Late we revert to the same isolation, hero ball that we were running early in the year when we sucked.
I love BI, but he can be the worst culprit. Hopefully our players realize it and break that habit. That’s all I want from this young team right now.

Literally was just talking to some friends about this right before the game.
Way too much hero ball down the stretch. I get BI wants to be the man and prove himself down the stretch, but to be a true leader isn't just to score at the end. It's about doing what's best for the team.
If he's hot and has it going, then keep it going. If he's off he needs to defer.
I blame Stan for this too though. He's giving him the freedom to play hero ball instead of running plays or putting the ball in other guys' hands.

You can see it, I can see it, general fans can see it. And dozens of examples.
However we aren’t making millions of dollars to identify and adapt to fix it. Freaking exhausting to watch the same movie play out.

We always talk about the lack of spacing hurting Zion but it hurts BI more. At least when Zion has the ball BI is drawing some attention on the the 3 point line, BI doesn't have that. Just think how many times last year BI was able to drive to the basket this year he maybe have a lane a couple of times a game.

we need to play off zion down the stretch. he can get our guys open 3’s all day if Stan isn’t retarded.

I largely agree.
This team needs reliable shooters in a bad way.
This game looks a lot different if we have mechanically sound shooters that defenders have to respect. The raw numbers don’t look bad if you just glanced at the box score, but several times late in the game we got our guards great looks and they just missed.
I feel like sometimes I also watch a different game from some people, but did people not realize that Denver’s strategy was to build a wall against Zion and throw a double at BI from literally tip off to finish? It seems Denver’s strategy was to take away BI, clog the lane on Zion and dare anyone else on the Pels to beat them. And this where our other young guys need to develop. Where honestly, Lonzo probably could have been a big help if he was available and hitting his shots.

I mean they did and then tried to do just that. Each play in the clutch was drawn up to get Zion the ball first but one of them got snuffed out and the other one he was smothered and they were bear hugging Ingram.
Before that Zion made the right reads and guys like Ingram and Naw just missed wide open looks.

FWIW Tatum has been struggling in the clutch since the playoffs las year as well

Been saying it all year.
Pels have to grab 2 shooters.
Will be perfect for zion and bi.
When bi can't get his shot late and kicks it out those 2 shooters will hit those shots.

Zion not being a credible 3 point shot is a big part of this.

The second to last possession at the end of the game, down three, Zion drove and kicked to BI for an open corner 3.
You can’t draw it up any better.

Lonzo would’ve been nice to have, I really want to see him and NAW staying together to see Joe’s it works.
NAW is a more consistent jump shot away from being a real player. With his work ethic, I think he’ll get there. The potential is there for this team.

I agree that if we play off of Zion down the stretch he could create some open 3’s for others....but who besides possibly BI will hit them during clutch time? Possibly Hart or Lonzo but not consistently. If we had one or two guys like Denver has in Jamal Murray, Milsaps, Porter... it would be different. They have 3 or more, not to mention Jokic, who can drain them with their eyes closed. We need one or two like that and the team would be able to close out much better.

That’s a very high risk assumption.
