Per Christian Clark on Twitter:

quote:

Griff on Zion: “Truth be told, I never said opening night. But that’s OK. I said for the regular season. But I do think it’s going to be something that because of the bone healing aspect of things, it’s hard. Every player is different. Nothing has gone wrong."

quote:

Griff clarified today that "his timeline should get him back on the court in time for regular season" comment meant any time during the regular season, not the start of the regular season

How stupid does he think we are? Just admit you said some shite you shouldn’t have. Instead he pisses on our face and tells us it’s raining.

frick him and his bloated metaphors.

His entire job was to not frick up the Zion relationship and hire a coach. BOTH have been gigantic fricking failures.

This is the kind of double-speak that instantly turns me against a person. By his bullshite logic, Zion may not be ready until April 10th.

And he chooses his words so carefully you know it was intentional.

"Ready for the regular season" as opposed to "ready for the playoffs"

How a responsible exec handles it: We were optimistic and truly believed that he would be ready for opening night. He was making good progress, but the new scans show he’s close but not quite there. We are going to be cautious and wait till he is 100% because the last thing we want is to risk a worse injury by rushing him back.

How not to handle it: I only said regular season, not opening night! LOL NERDS LOL!!!

Sooo..."he's going to be ready for the regular season."

AKA he's going to be ready for opening night. Griff is a moron.

I've said it a million times, snake oil salesman.

I don't understand why people are pissed at Zion. He can't make his bones heal any faster. Now, Griff is a liar. He lies to his fan base. I can almost guarantee he lies to his players and others in the organization. He has created this shite show. I am done with him.

i'm not sure how zion being fat, injured and unmotivated at the start of the most important year of his life is somehow griffin's fault

Part of me really wonders whether the bone is fine right now. I can totally see Aaron Nelson saying that Zion isn't playing until he loses 15 pounds and gets in playing shape. Who knows?

His mom is his nutritionist. His stepdad is his trainer.

He broke his toe working with his stepdad.

He is grossly overweight...again.

Its likely that his foot is fine but they are taking it slow because he is fat as absolute frick.

That's kind of my point. Griff's lying press conference on media day is what set up most people to feel this way. If he was honest in the press conference then no one, myself included, would have had the false expectation that Zion SHOULD be ready for opening night. They knew a month ago that he would not be ready. Griff lied and set everyone up to be let down.

Fifth metatarsal injuries are extremely common in the NBA. Kevin Durant, Ben Simmons, Mike Bibby, Ricky Davis, CJ McCollum, Patty Mills, Nazr Muhammed, Glen Davis, Pau Gasol, Brandon Jennings have all had this injury and needed surgery. Small guards have this injury, big guys have this injury. I am not mad at Zion for the injury. I am mad at Griff for lying about the recovery and setting false timetables for an organization and a fanbase that is desperate for some success.

you serious? Because he doesn’t take his health seriously. Gets fat as frick which increases the chances of him getting injured. And you know what will happen. He’ll have an injury prone tenure here his whole time in Nola, then go to a big market and all of a sudden take his shite seriously and stop eating his moms Mac and cheese and fried shrimp everyday. I can be mad at both him and griff

When shamit is throwing shade at Zion by insinuating he doesn’t take his rehabs seriously, that’s all I need to see.
