I have a question regarding who in the org wanted to take the LA deal

We've heard from multiple sources that Dell was in agreement with ownership to pass on the LA deal and wait for the summer.
Who were those in the org that wanted to do the deal? Reports were that part of wanting the deal was to limit negative PR.
Who were these people? Were they the football people? Seems like the pro LA group's motivation was to get through this ordeal as quickly and painlessly as possible. Even if it would have not been the best basketball decision

Remember that when you're playing 4 teams against each other not everything you leak will be true.

Perfect first response.
Negotiating 101.

From what I've read some/most of the coaching staff would have preferred it to remove distractions.

Not the LA deal, but a strong case could be made that getting a deal done before the deadline would have been a good option. Look at the shitshow it has become.
Doesn't mean they should have just taken crap to move on, but moving on quickly did have some merit

I can't remember what NBA guy, but it was mentioned that Alvin wanted a deal done. It was stated that he wanted to move on and get a team that he couod work with and coach, and not have any drama. He also wanted Lonzo because he thibks he would be perfect for his system

correct. And they actually liked some of the players.
Nobody who actually had any say wanted that deal and no deal was gonna get done under any circumstance regardless.

Makers perfect sense that Gentry (or any coach in a similar situation) would rather have a deal done.

Gentrys recent aggravation makes perfect sense
He's sick of all the drama
