This is simple... He wanted to keep guys who had been playing together on 2nd unit together. The guys you saw starting were mostly the 3rd string guys who stepped in to keep the planned rotation in tact. It is the same reason Minnesota called a TO at 6 min mark of the 1st Q during a 5-0 run in their favor. Coaches have a plan minute wise and 5 man unit wise that they want to see. That is what the pre-season is for.

Have y'all ever been or know someone who was in a bad relationship, and then they project those issues onto there next partner? That's what you're doing here buddy. Did you even check the box score? I think he was 2nd in minutes played.

My hope was that the Temple starting game 1 thing was throwing a bone to a vet.

I expect to not see that during the regular season, ever.

I'll start this by saying that i also don't expect Temple to ever start. Hell i don't expect him to play much at all, except maybe earlier in the season until Trey and Herb are ready to play more minutes.

But this is the on/off Net Rating of the Bulls players last year that played at least 25 games and logged at least 20mpg.
Zach Lavine +0.8
Vucevic -4.2
Coby White -3.9
Patrick Williams -13.0
Garrett Temple +4.4
Markannen -2.5
Theis -7.7
Wendell Carter -8.0
Thad Young +10.2
Satoransky +1.8
Otto Porter -4.4

Don't be surprised if Temple plays more than you'd expect, especially if that trend i just posted above continues.

It’s the first preseason game man come on. Plus he played 30 minutes lol and Green designed a play to give Murphy the last shot

But in Murph’s case his skill set is perfect to pair with Zion/BI.
At this point, I think both Tae and Trey should play as many minutes as possible with Zion on the floor. Those are our two players that can really make defenses pay for reacting to Zion's gravity in the paint.

I’ve got the over / under on the first Fire Willie thread at 0.5 games.

I'll take the under (= sometime before the end of preseason)

He played the most minutes on the team in the 1st preseason game.

Was there a secret game only the OP knows about since then that Murphy didn't play in?

In both of his last post-practice, post-game interviews Green has been pretty darn neutral in terms of how he is evaluating and crafting the rotation.

Definitely isn't giving off any of the SVG vibes that he is going to philosophically choose vets over rookies or grade them with a handicap...Which was a concern I thought could happen with Willie's background.
