Even if Zion is mostly muscle he can still lose weight. The Pels pay physical trainers and dieticians money specifically to accompmish these things. Zion could be the best player in this league one day but I just dont think his knees will hold up carrying that much weight.

Even if he is 100% muscle he needs to lose some of that muscle for his knees sake. I watched Zion a lot in HS when he was around 250 and he was just as explosive then. And he would still be bigger and stronger than most of the NBA. Zion is only 19 and should have a good 15 years left of peak performance but I dont think that will happen for him at 300 lbs.

He looks maybe a little bigger than he was at duke. Isn't any bigger than summer league or preseason.

He was listed at 282 for Duke and he looks heavier now than then. If he isnt 300 then he is damn close to it.

Agreed he could stand to lose some of the weight. Was just disagreeing with Mac that he has any belly chub. He is 100% muscle

David Griffin is searching the stasis of Zion thus i think Zion will drop pounds when his growth will be over at 22 years.

if he loses weight too quickly, he can weaken his joints too ...

This is just false. Not like he’s about to lose 50lbs

But a lot of people want to see him dropping 25 lbs or more and it will be bad for him if he drops it quickly…

I guess David Griffin needs to clarify things in the media regarding Zion's weight.

Zion is 6'7 295+ lbs. He is a fully developed man and will not grow another inch for the rest of his life.

David Griffin : ""Less weight, less torque is a theory. But you look at a player like Blake Griffin who generated enormous torque and had the issues he had in his career.
It took a while for him to find stasis in his body and we think that could be the same with Zion"

Look at his pics when he takes his jersey off during the Grizz game with morant. He’s def got a gut. Yeah he’s mainly muscle but he needs to lean out just a little bit.

Could lose 10 lbs a year over the next 3-4 years. 250 would be a good target. Weight
