I want to say a bunch of ugly things about these guys but my mama said not to swear on Easter Sunday.
Poop effort for 40 out of 48 minutes tonight

I support this post
The Pelicans have cracked all our Easter eggs

The Thunder blew a 6-point lead with 20 seconds left two weeks ago. The Pelicans didn't foul with OKC up five with 30 seconds left, then took 10 seconds to get off a final shot.

Taking 10 secs to get off the last shot is whatever. The coach gave up 30 seconds ago. Why wouldn't the players?

Another season with no playoffs could be in our midst

Watch the replay. Gentry told his team not to foul - the assistants jumped up to tell them to foul or at the very least press and Gentry just scoffed at them.

I agree. But, for the first time ever, I will complain about the officiating.
Clearly out on Paul George, ref first signals for Pelicans ball, all the sudden, OKC inbounds and scores.
Another play where we “fouled” Westbrook, which was all ball by the way. He was 100% not in the act of shooting, they send him to the line.
Wtf
The officiating is what makes basketball so hard to watch for me.

Gentry, refs, and that second half in general has me heated right now. Absolutely zero urgency from a team in the “playoff push”.

This team is just bound to suck without Cousins, AD at like 70%, and Jrue counted on to do anything. I'm pretty confident that the AD ankle sprain just fawked our season. I haz sad

This team doesn’t have the heart like those early Marc Gasol-led Grizzlies playoff teams. Or other teams that you just knew wouldn’t win the series, but it felt like they had a chance.

Boogie needs to have another talk with AD

Because at the end of the day they don't care. They're still getting 100% of their contract money no matter what.
Say what you will about the NFL, but they're the only league out of the big four that do their player contracts right. Sign for X amount guaranteed (usually around 50% of total value), and the rest must be earned through performance incentives.
Fully guaranteed contracts do nothing but create laziness.

Looked like a team making vacation plans instead of playoff plans.

If it means getting rid of Gentry, I might be for it

If they don’t make the playoffs, they had better fire his arse. This is a team that was red hot only 2 weeks ago, and now the can’t win a freaking game. frick his coaching

I -HATE- Gentry, but even still I don't see how any of yal can realistically blame him.
Say what you want, but I'm on the Pop-train that players at this point need to self-motivate within themselves. The energy to hustle for rebounds, avoiding lazy passes, etc...that's on a player to execute it, not a coach to tell you to try harder.
Last 3 games (because the houston one was a romp):
PDX: 17 offensive boards to our 11, we're also +6 on turnovers
CLE: 9 offensive boards to our 7, we're also +1 on turnovers
OKC: 14 offensive boards to our 7, we're also +3 on turnovers
So yal say Gentry gave up, you really gonna blame him when players are giving half effort and no sense of urgency? The games are close, lost by 4, 5, and 5...they're losing because of the lack of effort when it comes to doing things they should be doing properly
Box out
Run for rebounds (remember when we missed a shot (or was a it a FT) and everyone just stood there not going after the rebound infront of their face?? EXACTLY)
Stop making sloppy passes into bad lanes
I'm not even mad at Gentry because outside of AD giving it his all even at 70% on a gimpy ankle and diallo anytime he gets to take the court, not a single freaking player is playing hard every night at every moment.
