How similar will this AD trade be to the Ricky Williams saga?

It’s the only other time I can remember a team giving so much for a single player, and AD seems a similarly odd character. There is a fine line between all in and oops we went to far, and it seems LA is flirting with the latter.

Didn't someone do a summary of what all those picks turned into and it was pretty ho hum?

The unknown is how many vet FA's take the Boogie massive-discount route and passes up $35 million for just $5 million just to play with LBJ & AD.
The sooner Kemba re-signs with Charlotte, Khawi with Toronto, and Kyrie bolts to Brooklyn, and this trade will be even more Ditka-like.

No there ended up being a couple of really good players. One was Javon Kearse IIRC.

Yeah I think the short-term outlook for the lakers is cloudy due to the west now being wide open and not knowing who is inevitably going to take a discount to play there. Either way I’m satisfied with what Griffin did, he turned AD into Zion, Lonzo, BI, Hart, #4 and the chance to truly screw the lakers for the next 7 years. I really think griffin and this medical staff did their evaluations too so I don’t think this trade is made if they don’t think Ingram is back at 100% with no future complications

And the post above yours was by lsufreek.
It’s a sign. I’m not sure of what, but clearly that’s no coincidence.

Not sure what the picks were exactly, maybe they were ho hum but I bet if you looked at a list of all the players still available at those picks that you could have signed the list would look a lot better. That potential is what you’re really losing out on, and a trade like this says that with the player we got in return we don’t need that potential. When that player is made of glass or decides he likes carrying joints more than footballs...
