re: How does the roster improve with ONLY major trades? (old thread remix)
I try and throw in logical trades sending JJ, lonzo, Miller, and picks for Lavert, D rose, and #7 and get downvoted. But now we want to trade Jrue for Lavert or less players? I swear some of y'all are bipolar af.

Edit: I'd rather trade Jrue for Brittney Griner and cap space > 40 million worth of Al Horford or a 40 mil true PF which we already have.

Here's one. Just don't know who gets the draft picks that would surely be part of it as well.

So you wuld trade Jrue for Divencenzo and Bledsoe straight up? I wouldn't do that even with a 1st or 2 attached.

re: How does the roster improve with ONLY major trades? (old thread remix)
Let's say Jrue has an A to A+ value. If we trade him it will either be with picks for an A+ star, or it will be for multiple B to B+ role players. We will not trade Jrue for a base package of any draft pick. Doing that would be going backwards considering his trade value and value on our roster as is.

re: How does the roster improve with ONLY major trades? (old thread remix)
If you want to talk trades then start with this:

Lonzo= draft pick or role player

JJ + draft pick= role player or 6th man

Jrue= 2 role players or star ( with picks or assets attached)

Thats our best trade potential deals.

That's the problem. He doesn't have that kind of value. He's a B+ to A-. Better than a role player, but not a true star.

re: How does the roster improve with ONLY major trades? (old thread remix)
To some teams he does have that value, maybe not to all. For a team like Miami or Denver, it could push them to the next level. And regardless if he is still valued higher than a role player then his value is 2 role players....

re: How does the roster improve with ONLY major trades? (old thread remix)
I just want someone to throw up a trade including Jrue that isn't completely contradictive to something they have said in the past.

People are worried about paying Jrue, but want 2 years of a more expensive Wiggins.

People say he isn't worth a star, but want to trade him for B- or C level players

People say he's valuable to us, but want to trade him for unknown draft value and pennies.

In a previous thread.

Jrue+Melli for McCollum+Collins

And yes I would rather pay McCollum than Jrue (because of fit), even though Jrue may be the better player.

re: How does the roster improve with ONLY major trades? (old thread remix)
I'm not completely opposed to that and Collins could give us much needed depth help if healthy. My only worry is that CJ's contract ends in 2021 which is really the same as Jrue's so he could walk. It would be worth testing the chemistry tho. My other worry is CJ going from Dame to Lonzo at pg.

I feel like CJ could operate as this team's 1, but I could be wrong there. He has played 1 in the past when Dame was on the bench.

What are your thoughts on Michael Porter Jr and Harris > CJ and Collins.

I really want to see if we can get Lavert on this roster without trading Jrue. Then we have more package options to get back from a Jrue trade.

re: How does the roster improve with ONLY major trades? (old thread remix)
Jrue: CJ and Collins

JJ + 1st rd: Lavert

Lonzo: #7 and D Rose

CJ/ Rose/ NAW
Lavert/ Hart/Didi
Ingram/ Hart
Zion/ Collins
?/ Hayes

Too many guys who need the ball? Getting an effective coach could solve some of this as well.

I like Porter Jr, but I feel like he's pretty redundant with BI. I think we need a facilitator/scorer, more than just a pure scorer (which is what I feel like Porter Jr is). Harris is pretty meh to me, but I know he's just included in the trade due to salary matching.

LeVert's injury history concerns me, but he's solid when healthy.

CJ’s contract ends in 21

Except he signed an extension that kicks in soon and he’s going to get paid way too much for his production. Here is what he is set to make the next 4 seasons (keep in mind he turns 29 in September):
20-21 - 29.3m
21-22 - 30.8m
22-23 - 33.3m
23-24 - 35.8m
These numbers are why I wouldn’t trade Jrue for him especially until we find out what is going to happen to the future cap

Porter would just be a good backup SF to have for cheap and give us more freedom to use Hart if Jrue is gone. If we can land Lavert or a solid role player for JJ before he walks it would ultimately be worth it.

re: How does the roster improve with ONLY major trades? (old thread remix)
I think there are several players we can get that can score us 20+ without spending 30 mil to replace Jrue. My biggest question is what position? The truth is that our only 3 tradable assets are 2 SGs and a PG. Id almost rather try and package Lonzo and Redick for a SG and see what potential PGs or best player available for Jrue.

I'd rather keep Lonzo, than make the trade for 7 and Rose. Play Lonzo as an off guard, and play LeVert as the 6th man.

CJ/LeVert/NAW
Lonzo/LeVert/Hart/NAW
Ingram/Hart/Didi
Zion/??/Ingram
Collins/Hayes

I think CJ, LeVert, Ingram, and Zion is one too many ball dominant players in the starting lineup.

re: How does the roster improve with ONLY major trades? (old thread remix)
My problem is that Lonzo may not be the best fit as our starting PG and he may be a pricey bench player. Rose gives us that added depth and passing skill along with cap space and a potential asset at #7. I really think we should take a chance on two 7' euros for 3-4 mil each and role with it at center. Build up your depth at PF, SF, SG

re: How does the roster improve with ONLY major trades? (old thread remix)
All i know is, we don't need any more players who need the ball, who aren't going to do some distributing and creating for others. Ingram needs his ball. Zion needs his ball. We need players who can play off the ball most of the time, but who can still play-make for themselves at least when called upon, but while keeping an eye on the pass, or maybe having 1 or 2 reliable counter moves in-case the defense reacts appropriately. I don't consider Lonzo to fit that criteria, though i do consider CJ McCollum and Derrick Rose to.

And idk the last time we had an initiating point guard since guys like Rondo, Tyreke, Ish Smith even Tim Frazier, or a big that can do anything off ball and still do big-man dirty work, since Nikola Mirotic, and Christian Wood who we let walk.

And we can't ask Jrue to be our best defender, best distributer(he is, but its not even his thing), best scorer (which he is, B.I. is a close 2nd,...then Jah probably), then ask him do off the ball stuff when we know he's not a threat from there.. and not let him isolate where he is AMAZING because then we wouldn't be letting B.I. and Zion be at their best, which is also in isolation.

which is why i'd really like to see the pace slowed down, regardless of who all is on the roster next year.
