Taking Kira was the right move, but moving that 24th pick is still a huge head scratcher. I don't know if we could have moved up to 19th where Bey went, but Bey, Achiuwa, Maxey, and Zeke Nnaji all went from pick 19-22.

Not to mention Desmond Bane going #30, which was asinine. Plus Bolmaro, Hampton, and Pritchard. I would be lying if I said I saw Quickley playing like he has at well.

So many good options.

This exactly. While Griff/Trajan deserve credit for Naji and I've really liked each pick that we actually made in their respective draft slots, the draft day trades stand out as horrible miscalculations. Don't get me wrong, Hernangomez has been solid, but his roster spot and Thornwell's should not have gone to career journeymen with zero upside. Where this franchise stood, we should have been taking shots at Tillman, McDaniels, Bane, Hampton, Joe, Reed, etc. Some of these guys were obvious consensus NBA rotational players from day 1 with much more room to grow than Thornwell and Hernangomez. Maybe you strike gold, maybe you don't, but take your shots.

How much do fans in the stands really matter and why?

Is the theory that less fans = less pressure?

The Pels problems are all centered around atrocious guard play. When they play well, we win. When they don't we lose.

We are inconsistent because they are inconsistent.

Griff and company went in on Zo and it hasn’t panned out as they hoped. Likely was doomed with SVG’s experiment with him as a half court 3-D. Team is rudderless, with Bledsoe, NAW, Ingram and Zion innefectively sharing the role. Like an earlier poster said, with a capable full time point we’d easily be 10 over 50% instead of nearly 10 games under.

There's a clear correlation between a drastic increase in a lot of shooting percentages and efg% in the bubble last year and into this year.

To me, its sort of the same reason why players shoot better in practice than in a game. There is no pressure or intensity.

Fans bring an extra dimension to that

I hope that anyone who understands the game of basketball can realize what is going on...wake me up when Zion is 23 and begins to take care of his body...

sell tickets, make it exciting, lose close games..thats what is suppose to be happening, for the most part thats what is happening.

Just hope the Pels are able to attract a guy or 2 to pair with Zion... enjoy BI, but not crazy about his "fit" in NOLA...

I’d absolutely take Gentry over SVG because he’s more likable and more important the players liked him more. I know it’s never going to happen but I wish he would admit he made a mistake, tell SVG it just isn’t the right fit so he can go back to broadcasting, and then go hire a young coach like Darvin Ham or Charles Lee. I haven’t heard one person in the media or even on this board that thinks he was a good hire.

Wish they would have went the young coach route... let him bond with the players through these weird years.. then boom come out on the other side

Meanwhile, Monty and CP got the Suns ballin'

I don’t think Zion neglects his health I just think he’s still getting used to his body and how to play in the NBA. It’s not like he’s only good for 25 minutes a night, he is regularly in the 32-35 minute range. I agree partially with Ingram. He’s just uninterested in the defensive end and gets caught watching the ball move constantly. The sad thing is with his length if he cared even a little he could make life hell on opposing wings.

I imagine Griffin operates in a vacuum where he tells himself, "losing Jrue but gaining Bledsoe, Adams, and all these picks is not a bad deal".. Because he's comparing Jrue to Milwaukee Bledsoe

Except Bledsoe gets traded here and goes full Eric Gordon because he hates it here. For all we know, half the players from the Lakers trade are the same way...
It's pretty easy for us in hindsight to blast that part of the trade, and don't get me wrong, I've done so as well.

But Bledsoe was never THIS bad, and I don't know how any of us or Griff could have predicted he'd be THIS bad. You know Jrue is walking after the following season, and you get Bledsoe plus all those picks...no brainer at the time.

But Bledsoe goes full on don't give a shite mode, and Griff extends Adams to a terrible additional 2 year overpay which many at the time pointed out was a really bad deal, and it basically undoes all the draft pick assets we got for Jrue.

At the time of the deal, most of the guys who supported the trade for Adams were constantly stating we gave up worthless picks which was always perplexing.

24 overall is never a worthless pick. There's no guarantee, but it's not like it's some super rare thing to find you a rotational piece in the mid 20s. That certainly has value.

Shit, even RJ Hampton himself has played decently over the past couple of weeks, if I'm not mistaken.

Doesn't seem to make the Pels shoot better unfortunately

Zion is not the issue. He has been elite.

Well, if everyone hates it here, then we are just well and truly screwed no matter who is in charge. If it's a combination of small market and our particular city/area, those things are not really going to change.

I think the insane level of shooting has been buoyed by no fans though. There’s no way everyone got this much better all the sudden. I see a lot of coming back to reality next season.
