Start Miller instead of him. He again has zero points

Dont think Dante started. Unless they just put Moore in really early.

Miller is playing well. I'm in favor of giving all dantes min to him.

The gripe tonight is not Dante. It’s Alvin. This bafoon went with a 3 guard lineup against 2 lockdown wings in PG13 and Roberson. Then, after Etwaun was abused on both ends, called a timeout and trotted out the same lineup. Thank God Adams went out with 2 early fouls and Darius caught fire. Seriously don’t understand Gentry’s approach. He’s not Johnny Jones bad, but he’s bad.

Its not an excuse but the first thought that went through my head when I saw Moore starting was "Well that is fricking stupid. George and Melo are not the night you decide to run three guards."

The second thought was "well, I guess in terms of building the credibility of a meritocracy, Moore deserves to get that shot. He's played well." Not exactly justifiable as a gameplan, but I can understand it in terms of running a team. With that said, Moore showed why it won't work against most teams. Miller has also shown he is less streaky. Gentry should of made the switch much quicker if anything. After that first timeout when it was clear it wasnt working.

If Gentry doesnt give Miller the nod against the Spurs I will be on the hate train for that game.

Yeah I can get the logic somewhat about Moore but this was the worst matchup.

Against other teams it makes some sense.

Who else do you want him to run out there? He’s really just working with what he has until hill returns. I think experimenting w Moore at least shows he’s trying to find the right pieces when we have to guard an athletic 3

You cannot have rondo, holiday, and either Cunningham/Allen on the floor at the same time for offensive purposes. Not to mention Cunningham is too slow to guard PG13 and Allen is too small (as is Moore). Darius Miller can barely stay in front of backups and is still merely a 3P specialist on offense. You can’t force him into a bigger role that he can’t handle

You have brown and boogie with no real depth behind them, a slew of undersized guards and wings, and then Cunningham. Gentry deserves criticism but man the personnel to perform how our fans expect just isn’t there imo

Yeah, we have had a hole at the SF position for some time. And no, Hill was not a great long-term answer either.

At the end of the day you are just picking your poison with the rotation we have for the three. You can go undersized with Moore, un-athletic and shooting slump with Cunningham, or unproven and defensively below average with Miller. Pick your poison.

I'm personally of the mind that as of right now Miller makes the most sense for spacing and outlet reasons, and because Moore has shown he can thrive off the bench with more free reign there. I'm not gonna kill Gentry tonight for giving Moore the nod either.

Hill is one of our 5 best players and is going to play 30 mpg. He may not be a long term answer but he is crucial on our thin roster, especially one lacking anything close to a guy who can guard athletic wing players.

As far as miller goes, he’s going to play a large chunk w AD and DC regardless if those guys continue to log 35 mpg. I like the idea of Gentry dictating when to put Miller on the floor, whether is playing a mismatch on offense or allowing him to matchup on a lesser SF on D. It’s still early in the season, we want him to keep eating and gaining confidnce

On another note, Moore was actually a beast on Westbrook for a long stretch there in the 3rd quarter. He’s low key on a solid 6 game stretch in double digits, shooting nearly 60% from the field and 45 from 3, averaging 15 per game. If he was 3” taller we’d be cookin

I like Moore but last night was not the night to try him out and it was obvious early. He was swallowed by PG13 on offense and had no chance of stopping him. At least Darius gives you a scoring threat, Dante gives you a slightly better chance on defense. Allen gives you defense. To leave etwaun out there even after it was apparent it wasn't working was dumb and could have cost one of our bright spots to lose confidence.

Speaking of Hill, is it looking like a Feb. return or later? Any updates?

Biscuits tbh we got lucky they didn’t let George take over that game. We probably lose if so as I think he could’ve gotten 40 if he wanted

Seems like he’s trying to find his footing next to Russ and Melo. Reminds me a bit of our guys trying to mesh. Lotta bad possessions

There have been no updates on his progress thus far, but this is what I wrote in another thread:
quote:

The standard recovery timetable for a proximal hamstring tear is 6-8 months. Late February would put him 6 months out, late April would be 8 months.

That is the standard timetable, but last year Middleton had surgery Sept 28th and returned Feb 8th just over 4 months later. Solo had his surgery on Aug 27th, so he could return as early as the second week of January if he recovers as well as Middleton.

There is also the possibility that even if he does come back early it may be with diminished capability. That is a serious injury from which some athletes do not fully recover. Middelton at least gives me hope for a productive Solo contributing this season.

No doubt, said the same thing to my buddy at the game. When PG13 is on fire, it's almost impossible to stop. For some reason they got away from him and tried to get Melo going.

Been watching OKC a lot this year and it's a little forced right now. I think they will be good when Westbrook starts being himself and letting the other guys play off him. There was at least one instance last night where Russ had a 2 on 1 with PG13 and he tried to thread a bounce pass to him and ended in a turnover, where the old Russ would have attacked the rim and dared you to stop him.

They've got too much strength on the wings and too good a player in Russ to struggle much longer.
