I'm not sure it would work the way people keep assuming. Just pay the 2+ million and send him home.
$100,000 per game is set up to be a deterrent. A stiff enough penalty to scare teams away from sitting a guy.
So I seriously doubt the league would just sit back and check off $100,000 fines after each game Davis misses. At some point the penalties would start getting worse, and thats when draft picks might come in to play.

I know teams can suspend players, I wonder why this wouldn't fly, other than bullshite from the NBA and wanting stars on TV. If what he's done isn't conduct detrimental to the team, I don't know what is

WTF is wrong with DNP, Coaches Decision? Oak got like 20 of those this year and we didn't lose draft picks and money.

Because it's "tanking" per the NBA, and we can't sit healthy "star" players for no reason. It's bullshite, but it is what it is.

Sorry, but a player leaving the stadium mid-game certainly has to be grounds for a fine and suspension.

At this point I think all sides have a reason to sit him.
Him having a “shoulder contusion” is enough to have the team say “Well, he’s hurt” and AD’s reps won’t protest it too much because they don’t want to be there either.
The real question is whether he plays in the ASG before he shuts it down for the year.

Sure but you can't sit healthy stars. It's fricking stupid that the rules only apply to some players, but that's what is going on.
