Probably will not happen because of CJ’s extension but Jose should be starting over CJ to be completely honest. Way better defense.

His place is off the bench, bringing the energy and fricking the other teams bench.

I'd rather Jose close games than start them.

I don’t want to mess with Jose’s Sixth Man Of The Year award

We dominated this game largely because of the bench vs bench matchup. That's what got us started and we never looked back.

Both dudes combined have a 0.0% chance of on that award but that's ok. I'm not giving them up for any of the dudes who will get votes and win the award.

I’ll never understand why people insist on finding things to change when things go well.

He started six games for us, and to put it plainly, wasn’t good in that role.

As a starter: 27.5 mpg, 10/4/3 and off. Rating of 100, def. Rating of 114.

41/40/100

Off the bench (excluding today): 18.5 mpg, 8/3/2 and off. Rating of 116, def. Rating of 108

47/35/75

Keep him where he excels so he doesn’t have to do too much.

Sorry for wanting more Jose minutes

I get the not wanting to mix things up part of it all though. Just feels Jose’s defense and scoring are more valuable to the team rn than CJ. Also, lets not act like CJ wouldn't work as a scoring option with Trey off the bench. CJ wouldn’t be as much of a spark as Jose off the bench, but Jose would offer more than CJ in the starting role. Just my 2 cents. If admin finds my post cringe delete

The best route to maxing out how good we can be is CJ as our 3rd best player.

Wanting CJ to start, as much a I love CJ, is basically conceding you want to lower our ceiling.

Jose is unbelievably perfect in the exact role he is in now.

Not with both at their best, and there's no reason to believe during this long season that CJ won't return to form.

Just thinking how if some if Pels Talk got their way, we'd be starting Jose and Willy and bringing Zion off the bench.

Knowing that Jose's role is best suited how it is now, the question should honestly be

Should Dyson be the starter in a line up of:
Daniels - Jones - Ingram - Zion - JV

Swapping out CJ -> Dyson gives you a better defensive line up and someone who can defer to 3 big scorers.

Then having Daniels + JV come off For CJ + TM3/Jose makes it a small ball lineup where if you need length it goes with TM3. if you need speed and another handler its Jose.

Agreed. Jose is getting “starter minutes”. He logged 4th most minutes on the team today. Why do people put so much emphasis on who is on the floor at tip-off?

You want to know who else came off the bench their whole career and got starter minutes? Manu Ginobili.
