If this team wants to do anything going forward Uncle Al has to be fired before it is too late. We’re such a fraudulent 8-6, it’s going to get a lot of worse. We can’t stop any team with a fricking pulse. Giving up over 70% FG on 2 pointers with Davis and Cousins to a mediocre Raptors team on the second night of back to back.

It’s fricking pathetic. He’s such a joke of a coach. Even if we somehow come back and win this, he’s been the coach for three years now and we have the same massive defense shortcomings we’ve had over his entire tenure

Yeah enough is enough. We haven’t beat 1 good team this season, not 1. The schedule coming up is about to make this team every vulnerable to the rest of the league.

The team dominates first quarters every game but then it’s downhill after that every night. That’s all coaching.

Copied from Game Thread, but more appropriate here.

Same conversations about 3’s that we were having at the end of the season last year. The Jazz were arse blasting us from 3. NBA players are going to make 3s at a decent clip when you allow them to get in rythym by repeatedly giving them open looks. They’ve made a few contested shots tonight, but the vast majority have been wide open looks. Whatever Darren Erman has attempted to do, it hasn’t worked. The rotations are late if they rotate at all. The offense is equally as dysfunctional with the ISO crap and Point Center play.

Team would be better if Rondo player coached

I can't stand the guy. He won't take a fricking timeout to stop the bleeding either. It's like he gets an erection off of watching terrible defense and our fans disappointment from going from a lead to a huge fricking deficit.

Disheartening effort, mates - especially with the veteran Raptors on a road segababa.

Gentry sucks and should be fired.

But let’s not forget who put together this paper thin dogshit roster with no shooters.

The roster has flaws, but there’s no reason we can’t be Memphis with good coaching.

Had the best young player in the league who, supposedly, any coach in the league would come here for....

We hired a 60-something year old never-was, retread

I'm gonna preface this by saying I never wanted Gentry, would not be hurt one iota if he was fired today.

With that said, despite the refs frickery, does anyone think we lose this game if Rondo played 30 minutes tonight?

For how ugly it looks at times, we got 14 minutes seeing what this team can be when close to healthy. Jrue actually looked like what was promised by this team, he looked like a completely different player off the ball with Rondo facilitating the offense. Cousins was getting forced into the low block where he should work more out of. Rondo was breaking down the defense and getting easy looks for AD, Cousins, and our shooters. Running the fast break with the best of them. And the dumb turnovers looked only like a nightmare we finally woke up from.

We also saw that maybe Miler has put it together offensively(has to get the fouls down though).

My one thing I will be watching is that I think Gentry needs to think long and hard about moving Cunningham out of the starting lineup. Maybe give it a short leash with Rondo getting more minutes to see how it works, but I suspect it isn't. Can't have all three of our back court players unable to hit catch and shoot threes. Rondo is good but he isnt a magician.

Though I will say, Gentry should of called a timeout in the fourth when after multiple possessions the team wasnt even getting the ball to AD. If I have one criticism it is that Gentry has let fester this tendency for when one of Cousins or AD goes to the bench, that the team just seems to inexplicably start playing around them, not through them. Or they go into ISO mode for no reason and someone like Cousins ends up dribbling into four defenders and turns it over.

There was one point in the first where the play he wanted was to get the ball to Boogie in the post, but before he set that up he twirled his hand in the air telling the other 3 guys to move their asses instead of watching Rondo and Boogie play a 2 man game. They all immediately started moving forcing their defenders to follow clearing out more space for the Cousins post up. Without Rondo the guys on the other side of the court are sitting around doing nothing and there's a decent chance the pass into the post is a turnover.

This was the first game I had been to this year and holy moley nothing has changed. It makes no sense that they brought him back in the first place. Horrible.

Perfect example. You can tell the team has an enormous amount of respect for Rondo. Which seems like exactly what he needs after several contentious stops for teams during his post Boston career. Despite how ugly it got, I am pretty excited with what we saw from Rondo, Jrue, Davis, and Cousins.

Dante scored 8 of his 10 points in the first half and Jrue scored 12 of his 18 in the first half. Jrue looked like a completely different, attacking player when he was with Rondo.

Yep, when he was just focused on getting the ball and scoring or driving and making a quick pass, he looked like what had been promised moving him off ball.

That was incredibly encouraging.

Only thing that still irks me is his inability to knock down open threes. But given his career numbers I have to believe the slump will end eventually.

He’s the worst coach in the NBA by far. 3 teams have two top ten players on their roster the Warriors the Rockets and the Pels, the first two teams are conf finals contenders at least the Pels are sub .500 under Gentry.
