I had flashbacks to game 1 of the Portland series watching the last 10 seconds.

What a fricking shame Marcus Smart was the first guard to win DPOY since Payton. Jrue's defense has been at an absolutely insane level for the past 5 seasons.

Best perimeter defender in the NBA.

Only dude that can say he's better is healthy Kawhi, and we haven't seen that in quite some time.

Jrue will be the final piece to our 3-peat in a few years

If Jrue constantly whined about not winning it, played for the Celtics and colored his hair green, he'd have a couple DPOYs.

I love Jrue but it's a good thing he's playing defense because he's been a disaster on offense this series. 34% shooting, 109 points on 116 FGAs.

If Jrue flops more, he would’ve won. The guy is truly a competitor and plays the right way.

His overall shooting percentages are bad, but he’s hit at least 2 incredibly clutch shots in this series that have helped lead to wins.

Truth be told, nobody is shooting a good percentage in that series. It’s a physical series with a lot of tough defense and Jrue is having to force the issue more than usual without Middleton.

Which is why Mil is such a good fit for him. Given his age and seniority, he wanted/was asked to be a primary offensive option here, when in reality, he needs to be no more than your third option over a season/playoffs, cause he's just not that guy. He is the definition of a streaky offensive player. Whether it is quarter to quarter or game to game, or month to month.

Awesome to see him succeeding on the biggest stage. Jrue deserves it. Great player, great person, and one of the best Pels ever

Son of a bitch how nice would it be to have him, Herb and Alvarado on the same team?

It is. Jrue is a better defender but Smart and the Celtics promoted it for him. On the flip side Jrue is quiet and the Bucks have someone else on the team that could also win it every year as well so they weren't pumping Jrue up. The Suns players were pushing for Bridges all year as well.
