2 Rbs and 1 assist shy of a Triple/Double with a steal AND ONLY ONE TURNOVER in 31 mins twenty games in to his 1st season at 19 yrs old. Even the extreme optimists weren’t expecting this so soon.

And this is why he's a valuable offensive player right now. He's got a fantastic handle, he protects the ball, and he doesn't make dumb mistakes.

Live-ball turnovers are an absolute killer, ESPECIALLY now with the take-foul rule. It's more important than it's ever been to minimize live-ball turnovers, and Dyson doesn't commit those.

Yeah. We saw it last night. Toronto got back into the game because of turnovers. Protecting the ball is another valuable asset that he possesses. Such a good pick. Thank you Toni.

and one of the most valuable things he does doesn't show up in stat sheets. When he guards a wing, that ball does not go that way.

He was excellent.

Plays so calm and composed and Hugely ahead of the curve on D.

We got a good one there! Again!

He is the best kind of rookie ... plays within the flow of the game. He isn't out there looking for his shot, he is just doing his job and filling up the stat sheet. I really hope we move Graham so that he can play 20+ minutes a game.

Graham is so damn streaky. He looks good two games then is just terrible like last night.

Kinda like Lonzo.

I know this isn't negative, but it suggests he doesn't take risks with the ball. Last night he had a Marino/Brees like laser pass to Billy in the lane in a crowd that was just perfect. When you're as good as he is it isn't taking risks, but it's definitely high degree of difficulty passing that nobody else on the team can match.

Jose is close (though last night wasn't a good game for him), but I agree. I think Dyson is already the best passer on the team.

Dyson also has really really good touch around the rim. Puts great english on the ball off the glass.

His passing ability reminds me of Lonzo a ton

Man, I know it's early but we LUCKED out with Dyson. The draft fell off a freaking cliff after him.

Sochan may turn out to be pretty good, but damn. There is a chasm between picks 1-8 and the rest.

For once we actually got lucky unlike the Dame or Haliburton drafts.

it sure does look that way
even better than getting dyson at 8 is that he is the player the pels wanted at any pick below 4

excellent passer, ball handler and defender at 19 years old.

Early Re-draft by Kevin O'Connor. They did this on their new NBA draft podcast and I think Dyson went 9 because the other guy took Tari Eason at 8. But they gushed over him and the Pels future if anyone wants to listen.

This dude better be in the rotation for the rest of the year. No way in hell he should be sitting on the bench.

If he does that consistently he’s basically Halliburton with less minutes

Can someone with an ESPN+ subscription post what Zach Lowe said about Dyson in his "Ten Things" column today?

During this stretch where the Pelicans have won seven of their last nine games, Daniels has been one of the biggest contributors to the team’s success. In his 181 minutes, New Orleans has posted a +13.4 net rating, and the accompanying 95.7 defensive rating and 104.87 pace simply jump off the page.
