Why not? Griff did his main job, which was to get good assets in the AD trade and draft a young core to build around. I don't believe in his ability to get us over the hump or to maintain success if we started winning. Also his track record for hiring coaches is pretty terrible.
Nelson is one of the most respected GMs in basketball and helped turn a bottom feeder franchise into one the most consistent winners in the NBA and He's won a title. He's the only person to trade for 2 hall of famers in one draft, he traded for Luka, and apparently wanted to draft Giannis but was over ruled by Cuban.
He may get hired by next off season, so I would like to just fire Griff and ride with a hall of fame caliber executive and possibly get Carlisle instead of just hoping Griff can get his shite together.
