Does Lonzo really have a place on the team at this point?

Is it time to package him with a 1st while he still has value? What could we get?

Seems like BI and Hart are the only two real additions from the AD trade. Zo is just....there

I want to see what he can do with Zion, but Jrue/JJ seems like a much better back court than any other combination with Ball, so Lonzo does seem like the odd man out.

True. I guess no one should be on the block until he comes back.

why would you attach a first to him like he's solomin hill? that's stupid. do you think he has negative value? why are you so desperate to get rid of him when he's only played 9 games total this year?

Yes, but his role is getting smaller and smaller as we move along through the season.

Nah. We have all of this year and next year to assess. The upside of Lonzo is better than the draft pick we could get IMO.

Also, Lonzo does have value right now. We could get assets for him, we certainly wouldn't have to send him and a 1st out to get rid of him. If that were the case, we'd just keep him and let his deal run out and keep the 1st rounder.

stop giving firsts away.

Just trade him for a 2020 first to a team in bottom half today. Not protected.

people has been saying “ his upside” since he came into the league. I’m with the OP trade him while he still has some value

he wont take it to the hole because he stinks from ft line.

Hes big for a guard and plays d and passes.

I would have moved him already. Cant happen soon enough.

i mean, he's barely into his third year in the league. he's still 22 years old. is it inconceivable to believe that a 22 year old kid will continue to get better? kinda like that guy brandon ingram?

He's played 9 games. It would make no sense to trade him right now, and the team never would so there's no point in even asking. Only this board wouldnt give a #2 overall pick more than 10 games before wanting to deal him.

I don't see how he is playable with Jrue. He is a PG who can't drive or shoot and his D has been less than spectacular. Move him for more wing help and roll with JJ and Jrue.

I really think he will be moved eventually.

I'm just not a fan of his game at all.

I am in the don't trade Zo boat, at least not until after we've seen much more out of him. But if they were to trade him I would hope it wouldn't be for a wing. I feel like Ingram is a star, and has tons more growth potential. I also feel like Hart is a perfect bench wing and can absorb all the minutes Ingram sits. I'd much rather us be looking for rim protector bigs, preferably ones who could shoot. I watch how much better this team plays when the opposition has someone to worry about at the rim. I feel like a 3rd guy to go with Hayes and Favors is a better avenue to focus on. Again, dont wanna trade Zo, but if for some reason they do I'd package Zo and Miller or Moore and try and get Turner (He's my pipe dream trade pick up for this team, however we could get him)

I love how reactive this board is. Everything is in the moment. Couple weeks ago Jrue was getting traded (in the minds of everyone cause he sucked) so why should we care who plays well with him.

I predict now in one month when Zion is back and Ball is balling with him that this board puts Jrue back on the trading block and when Ingram has trouble meshing with Zion there will be discussions we should cash him out before having to give him big money next year.

Also Redick will go into one of his shooting slumps soon and he will be trash too on here.

Carry on.

I think Jrue needs to stay at point guard and let Ball come off the bench. If his 3 is working then keep him in. Once he starts air balling and bricking 3's take him out.

Lonzo has more confidence shooting 3's now than Dwight Howard in dunking

Is it really a hottake with Ball?

His flaws were well known and he really hasn't done much besides shoot FTs and 3s a little better.

He's been injured (as he always is), inconsistent, won't drive to the basket, disinterested at times.

I hope he starts to figure it out and plays way better with Zion and as the season goes on, but I just don't see his game as a fit.

I like him off the bench, and we need another PG. Anyone here ready to let NAW run the 2s?

Maybe we could be a tad patient, sons?

heres the problem with ball & Jrue

the two of them together (on the court at the same time) is a net rating disaster. take one away and the other one's rating improves dramatically
