It’s going to feel like a G-league game with no fans. Basketball with no fans fricking sucks to be honest.

You know what sucks more? The only sports on TV being Korean baseball, German soccer, and NASCAR.

Don’t forget golf. I think bowling is gearing up too.

Also at some point during this hypothetical 3 month period, Disney World at some point during this is going to want to reopen its parks and will need the resorts for the public.

...season ain't happening y'all.

agree
this is pointless
road NBA playoff games are the most hostile environment in sports. How will a “winner” be legitimate under these canned circumstances?

just cancel the season and work on getting ready for November

I highly doubt they will be back at normal capacity in 3 months. They could likely easily take one resort out of inventory (particularly Coronado Springs which is used for conventions).

Perfect place really.

They either need to do a play in tournament for the last few spots or just go right to the playoffs. I can’t get on board with playing 5-7 meaningless games. (As much as selfishly I want to see Zion play more.)

I don’t see any teams already ensured on missing the playoffs wanting anything to do with that.

Grizzlies and their fans are the only ones happy about this. They had played the easiest schedule, had toughest remaining and all momentum of the season had been lost. They didn’t earn shite but they will get their way. frick the coronavirus

this. They need to make this right to us somehow. It’s not like a lockout situation where we all knew we were playing less than 82. If everyone is getting to 70, that’s still 12 games that we don’t get if we finish 1 or 2 games behind Memphis

Why are people saying this will suck? A NBA tournament in Disney World sounds awesome. They will have fans and tons of story lines about the players day to day lives in Disney. NBA playoffs or Mlb regular season what will you be watching?

We are still cheering for the season to be over so the Lakers don’t win, though, right?

True, but it does not suck more than no basketball at all.

Then why is Disney making a play for it then?

Also, you think within 3 months Disney is going to be open and at full capacity and have a need for every single one of their resorts and not be able to spare the 1 resort for the teams to stay at?

They wont' have a choice.

It's about fulfilling a certain amount of games, i believe 70, to hit some number for the regional sports network contracts. I'd imagine this does benefit teams for next season when it comes to what the cap number will be.

Yeah, and all the publicity from NBA players riding every attraction and eating at every restaurant would be fantastic towards getting tourists to come to Disney. Seriously, the whole thing would be a giant commercial for Disney.

It was just a really poor point to make on his part.

Like Disney and the NBA haven't spoken about that, the NBA season will start, then 1 month later Disney is going to kick the NBA out because they need the resort.

The odds of the Monstars invading Earth are about the same as what that poster insinuated.
