Dear career long bum arse...

Do everyone a favor and resign. We have an owner hospitalized who is unable to make the decisions for the betterment of this organization or else you would have been gone last year. Alvin, if you care at all about this city, team, and the players involved then please do yourself and all of us a favor and resign. Please.

I didn't even watch the game but I'm just going to guess we blew a lead to a shite team at home?

We didn’t even come to play tonight. Never had a chance to get a lead more than 5 points against the fricking magic at home. Gentry then didn’t take any blame during the post game presser but instead decided to blame the players. Dudes gotta go period.

I know some people are looking for blame placing, but I really just saw a team that didn't play smart basketball tonight outside of AD.

Everything they had been doing in prior games they didn't do tonight. With the exception of AD. Cousins had an off night shooting and that meant someone needed to step up(looking at you Jrue) and no one could.

The ball movement was often non-existent, the shot selection poor, and Cousins and AD looked like they just didn't look at the scouting report on some players, so guys like Speights just tore us up.

On a side note, I wouldn't mind bringing Speights in as one of our backup bigs next year. Should come cheap and can at least put points on the board in this sort of system.

The Magic beat the Cavs and destroyed the Spurs already this season. It was a game the Pels should’ve won, but let’s not pretend they just got beat up by the Mavs.

I got the sense they were a little cocky from winning a few and took Orlando lightly.

Everything was fine & cursing along until it wasn't. Next thing you know no one is guarding Speights and we're down 10 and the game was away from us.

Cousins had the most Cousins game ever. 38% field, led team in Turnovers, again. And the loser doesn't talk to media after

Weird how Gentry gets all the blame in losses, but Finch/Erman get the credit in wins.

Not sure how anyone could watch that game and not be impressed with Orlando.

Pels were sloppy, yes. But Orlando looked good, smart, and organized. Davis got Gordon and Isaac (like him a lot) in foul trouble pretty quickly and it just didn't matter. We'll see if this lasts, but they are playing good basketball right now. This ain't the Jeff Green Magic.

Defense for the Pels is still a concern. Didn't matter v Cleveland, but, again, lots of miscommunication and open looks for good shooters.

I was a season ticket holder for the last five seasons and I decided not to renew this year. I saw this roller coaster from a mile away and had no interest wasting my money on it.

The one thing I am surprised though is, I thought I would atleast have some interest to go to a couple games this year. I'm still a fan, I still watch on Fox Sports. But right now, I'd honestly not be surprised if the next game I attend Gentry isn't the coach.

Boogie and Jrue combined for 12 turnovers. Not going to win many games when that happens.

1. Orlando is a good team.

2. The Pelicans didn’t bring the effort, especially on defense.

The criticism of Gentry is very different from the criticism of Monty. With Monty there were always specific complaints about coaching decisions. With Gentry the number one complaint is always “we lost again, Gentry has a career losing record so I don’t actually need to come up with things he’s doing wrong, I can just lash out like a child.”

I’m glad they lost this one because they didn’t bring their A game. Winning against Minnesota is much more important. If losing to a team in the East is what it takes to refocus that’s an acceptable cost.

Watching him coach is like watching Johnny Jones all over again. No emotion. Blank stare.

That’s lazy. I don’t find too much wrong with the strategy but there are problems with execution. Some of that’s on the players, some is on Demps and the roster mismanagement, but some of it is on the coaches for not managing the players better.

I think Cousins arguing so much with officials that he’s not down court in defense is on Gentry and is troubling. For the most part Cousins has kept it together so far, but he seems to be arguing more and more and Gentry needs to stop that now. It makes me think of the book the Tipping Point and the story about how Giulliani fixed crime on the subways in New York by focusing on the little violations like painting over graffiti every night. Controlling those little problems ended up reducing the bigger crimes.

I think Cousins needs to be managed the same way. If you don’t control these minor problems before you know it he’s breaking enough rules that there are no rules.

Not really.

OK. That’s not conducive to discussion. I’m not knighting for Gentry, I’m knighting for the board.

The myth of the efficacy of Broken Windows policing aside, I agree that Cousins ref-whining often becomes a detriment.

And it’s clear more savvy players recognize that and try and goad him into those situations. But I will say he has shown some growth compared to last season. But just showing growth means little when it still happens too frequently.
