They really are overvaluing that pick, aren't they?

the difference between the 1st & 6th pick this year is minimal at best. Case and Point, 6 players have atleast been rumored to be looked at as a potential top pick.

if the Hornets have a target, i can see how it would be appealing

i wouldnt do it. personally

I'm not giving up any 1st round pick in next years draft, unless we are getting an absolute star player.

Next year is fricking stacked.

But the only guy that we can pin point for sure to not be at 6 is Noel. Everyone else could conceivably fall to 6.

doesnt seem far off it they can throw something else in

Dont think id do it though.

Yeah, if they throw Varejao, Zeller, or ever Gee then that would change things a bit.

And if Dell liked Oladipo, Len, or Noel that much I really wouldn't be that upset. I think we are looking at a pick around 15 next year. Is that really that valuable? We are going to be decent next year.

Giving up next year's first to move up 5 spots in a weak draft is too much by itself.

We do that trade and we suck hard this upcoming year, giving them a likely lottery pick in a loaded draft.

You aren't even allowed to trade consecutive first rounders I thought?

It depends on the order of operations.

If the trade is made after pick 6 is made, we can trade the 2013 pick and the 2014 pick at the same time.

Still doesn't make this idea any less stupid. Moving up 5 slots in exchange for giving up Vasquez and a future 1st, in a more loaded draft, is a shite deal.

You must think we are going to sign somebody semi-big this year.

With no decent PGs or SFs? That trade would make us worse next year.

Exactly. We are talking 5 spots. 5. In a weak draft where anyone could fall.

Next year, what if players get hurt? What if we suck? What if we are at pick 12 and win the lottery?

Next year is way too potentially stacked. Ridiculous deal.

Demps is almost certainly laughing his arse off.

How about Vasquez and next years first rounder? We keep the #6 pick?
