re: Chicago/MJ to NO/Zion
there is nothing about them the same.

the sloan chet walker bulls team took wilt & west to 7 fabulous games. lakers needed ot games at home.

chicago is a great city.
every cultural artifact.
first tier symphony.
opera.
music certainly equals and in many areas excels n.o.

there are many cuisines.

wtf are you thinking?

you think zion means pelicans will 3 peat?

it takes a whole team. young mj had an amazing series vs larry and the celtics. celtics won because C's had a whole team of all stars. mj did not win until Cartwright.

personalities of zion and mj. the athleticism, the incredible stardom of each early on, similarish cities when they talked about bulls was always the backstory to the other teams in the cities and all. Just lots of little things that i can foresee a lot of similar hopeful paths.

Zion is the first star level Hornican since CP3 that seems to care enough about winning to strap the team on his back and will them to victory. It is also nice to see that Ingram seems to have a bit of that dog in him too.

ill give this nonsense this much:
the hockey team and nfl football had had enormous stars when mj came along.
and the love affair with the cubs.

but Chicago was always #2 to nyc.
that was a very nice #2.

new orleans is what, #65?
think about it.
any dance companies?
world class anything?
The saints are just one of several really good nfl teams.
the pels didnt make the playoffs.
chicago has two mlb teams.
hockey, which matters in the north.
every kind of thing and event. and many are top 5 nationally.

zion was exciting.
thats it.

Chicago is #3 to LA. Chicago is half the size of LA.

i'm not trying to compare the size and stature of cities. but maybe more locale and personalities and passion of each.

re: Chicago/MJ to NO/Zion
Scottie Pippen’s rookie year was same age as Brandon Ingram was this previous year for Pels.

MJ’s minute restricted sophomore year comeback in bulls. Sounds familiar?

That settles it. Zion and the Pels could never be great without a great opera scene.

Oooooh, I like this because that should mean Ingram will stay for cheap and a long deal
