Celtics will move Kemba this offseason
Wonder if we would be in on that? Adams and Bledsoe for Kemba and a 1st. I know the contract is horrible due to his health, but trust in Nelson to do his job, and maybe able to get a steal.

Kemba averaged 30 ppg towards the end of the season, and he's always been damn good in the clutch, something this team sorely lacks.

He's under contract for 2 more years at about 75 million, so bad deal, but potentially could get a steal. Worst case you have a max expiring next season, and a full war chest.

Definitely could be an intriguing deal.

Also made this thread, for rumor is Danny was trying to get Jrue last year using Kemba, I wonder what the deal he was offering was. Knowing Danny it was Kemba straight up.

I think I would take the risk for that price.

Make it a lottery protected first and it’s a deal

No matter what I definitely wouldn't give up value. I may even do it without the 1st, but I'm still on the fence on whether I would like to take him on in the first place.

I’d be okay with this deal with or without the first coming back to us. Of course, this would be my 7th or 8th option, but I still think it’s a viable one that does have merit if we arent able to use Bled and Adams contract to get another useful piece/pieces.

re: Celtics will move Kemba this offseason
Celtics will definitely have to give up a 1st to move him, but that’s to someone that can either take him into space or mostly space (or send non-guarantees) etc.

If they are taking on substantial salary like Adams and Bledsoe that would sort of defeat the purpose. Maybe they would do it straight up with no pick involved.

It’s definitely something that OKC would do though. Take him into space for a pick. Rehab him, and then trade him as an expiring for a pick or use his salary when they are ready to unload picks.

I actually like Adams on the team; however, I would be ok with the outlined trade without the pick. I don’t see Bledsoe adding value. Kemba may add some star power and veteran leadership. At worst he is gone in two years.

This here is why I still wouldn't be opposed to it without the pick involved, they could use the pick to dump Bledsoe onto someone else, and keep just Adams, saving them roughly 19 million in the process.

At some point they have to decide to stop collecting picks, there's just no way they will be able to use all of them, and they're definitely not going to be able to talk a disgruntled star into going there.

Kemba was #8 on the list Shamit made for the most unassisted 3s made in the last 2 years. If he’s healthy he brings shot creation the Pels can use.

Kemba is overpaid, but he's a good player. If we're willing to pay the tax, then overpaying good players can be a way to win -- let's do it.

On the other hand, if we decide that we aren't going to pay any tax this season, then I'm against Kemba, because we would hamstring ourselves from making other moves that could make the team better, which is what we did last year with Adams.

There is speculation about Washington making a move for Porzingis. I wonder if the Celtics might jump into that and grab him first. That almost works as a straight up swap.

Walker is up a year before Porzingis. Walker can replace Hardaway and they still have room to add another big salary (John Collins?).

Reasons why I see us not getting Kemba Walker is because of defense and how overpaid he is right now.

Not a fan of this deal. We can probably get out of Bledsoe’s contract with a few 2nd rounders to a rebuilding team

Bledsoe is basically an expiring contract. While Kemba has another year at double the salary. Adam’s is overpaid but would be some what useful for the Celtics. They would have to attach a first for me to do that trade.

And like someone said, this woukd have to be a last resort kinda option if no other moves materialize this offseason. Kemba wouldn’t be a bad option for Kira to learn under either.

re: Celtics will move Kemba this offseason
first off, yes i'd be interested in getting Kemba. If you believe in Kira as your future PG, then Kemba can help guide him into that role. He's still a really good player. I do'nt believe he's fallen off the cliff like so many else have said. He's battled injuries all year. He needs to get healthy.

second, i'm not using a 1st to dump Bledsoe. That's just dumb and it shouldn't cost that much. we have enough 2nds to make it happen.

and third, i'm not interested in moving Adams until i feel Jaxson can handle everything at the 5, and i do'nt think he's ready for that yet.

a team that will be looking to take on draft picks this offseason will be Detroit. They have zero picks next year. They are devoid of valuable 2nds. They don't have their own 2nd until 2027. They've got 2 this year (lakers/hornets), and GSW next year, Sac's in 2024, none in 25 or 26. That's where you send Bledsoe for 2nds, or you send Bledsoe for Grant with 2 firsts, which i'd rather do.

It also might give you some insight into can the offensive output be good enough to justify the hit to the defense that comes with a short PG that can't switch on to many other players.

We keep bringing up Brogdon because he's on of the few answers for the Pels that MIGHT be available. But there just aren't many sellers. We're probably going to be looking at making the best of a bad contract swap like Kemba or Buddy or Kevin Love.

Which way do you feel the additional compensation would go for a Bledsoe/Adams for one of these guys swap?

Trading for a small point guard with a bum knee and who can no longer get to the basket is a bad idea.

but trust in Nelson to do his job

Nelson can not help Kemba regain allstar form if his knee is shot.
