Kyrie Irving had a lot to say postgame but what stood out was “The young guys don’t know what it takes to be a championship level team. What it takes every day. And if they think it is hard now, what do they think it will be like when we’re trying to get to the Finals?”
I wouldn't be surprised if Kyrie walks in FA, or if Danny decides to shake a couple things up

These same young guys who almost made the Finals with you on the bench last year Kyrie?

WE are called the pelicans not the celtics.

Is this the same Kyrie that didnt sit on the bench when his team hosted a game 7 in conference finals. Also the guy that didnt want to play with the greatest player of all time.

Kyrie was born far too late to play with Jordan.

I would love to make a deal with Boston. I wonder how much it would take to get Brown. A package of him and Smart would be really good (but also expensive).

I’ve raised this before, but what would you say if Celts came to you before deadline and offered trading Kyrie + Brown + 2 firsts for AD + Hill? You consider? Counter?

No. Because Kyrie ain't re-signing here
Posted on 1/13/19 at 11:51 am to Crewz
Sure, obviously that’s a prerequisite. If he wouldn’t it’s a dead letter.

Zero chance a guy that didnt want to play with Lebron and seems not to want to play with Celtics considers signing with pels. Guy is a odd

Kyrie and Brown are pretty much the entirety of the Celtics problems...
Now, I would trade Randle straight up for Brown, but as far as Kyrie, unless we are keeping AD they can have him

The Celtics play better as a "team" without Irving. Now I don't have the stats for that, but when I watch the Celtics with Irving, there is more iso ball. Without him they go back to the passing offense that made that team great last year.
I always wondered, though, how the Celtics could trade Irving. Well, with that recent rant, which may have been secretly approved by the front office, that may be the way to go for Irving.
However, if Irving goes, I don't see him coming to a Davis less Pelicans.

Brown-Randle swap might be interesting, though we might have to sweeten it a bit.
Would you trade Randle+ lottery protected 1st for brown and rozier [with resign assurance] Hey, if we end up trading Davis to the Cs, we might get the pick ( or equivalent pick) right back!

I know you’re not in Pels Talk bringing up MJ-LeBron. That’s MSB talk.
Bostons problem is that Brown-Tatum-Rozier got a taste of stardom but can’t bring that same focus night in night out yet.
Roles matter. Obviously Boston has a too many cooks problem.
Brown will be gone first if I had to guess.

I doubt Celtics want Randle. He doesnt really fit what they do.

I love the idea of a trade where we are really low key sellers but it isn't so obvious. Imagine - Solo and Randle for Nic Batum, Dwayne Bacon, a first and a second.
Charlotte sheds money, probably gets better to try and win their division or make playoffs this year and opens up room to re-sign Kemba. We can act like it is a move for now because we are getting a wing and moving Niko back into his rightful starting spot. But really, we are just starting to load up the war chest.
Then, we move AD, get Tatum and 2 or 3 more picks. Build that young roster up while Batum earns his money as a mentor. Then, in two years, armed with a roster of prospects and a huge expiring in Batum, you attach a young guy or two to Batum's expiring for some star who wants out. Or, continue to build slow.
Point is, start building up that asset war chest now. Then add to it with the AD trade

I would think Randle could fetch a first pick from a team competing for a playoff spot that could use a high energy sixth man. Id move him for one.

god yes.
Kyrie plays for half a season but Brown and two firsts is a lovely parting gift and hill being gone is a bonus.

Pelicans still probably fixated on keeping AD until he demands a trade. The organization doesn’t have the balls to be a seller.
