This team has been a huge disappointment. When boogie moved over everyone thought we would be a top 8 team. We are far from that.

I don't think the President of Basketball Operations will have a chance to evaluate things until some time next year. If Demps is in charge I think he makes a trade before he fires Gentry. Before they make a trade they at least want to see how the team looks with Rondo back.

Honestly I'm not sure what firing Gentry does anyway. Hate the guy all you want the defense is Erman's, the offense is Finch's and the roster, the real problem, is Demps'.

Dream scenario...Somehow do enough to re-sign Boogie, not trade the pick, fire Demps right after the season is over, and get rid of Asik's cap number due to injury...

It's really a joke that this arse clown is still here! I am so sick and tired of hearing him talk after losses!

I really don't mind Gentry and don't see any reason to fire him right now. The team is pretty much all new to the system and he is missing two starters. I can't think of any other coach, that they can get, that can come in and turn it around. The roster is shite and doesn't fit. Gentry can only do so much.

My dream scenario. Relieve Demps before he does anymore damage. Ferry comes in and blows the shite up, everybody goes. We start over from scratch this offseason with 60M in cap space and 3 lottery picks. Ferry picks a young aggressive coach and they start the rebuild. No more guys from Kentucky..

This roster has personalities that need to be managed. I think that's something Uncle Al can do to a certain extent. Could an entirely new coaching staff be an upgrade? Yes. Does firing Gentry and replacing him with 2 relatively young and inexperienced assistants make this team better now? I really don't think so. Gentry needs to be tuned out by the team before that would help.

This team is actually trying to do what the coaches want them to do, they're just like Maggie Simpson trying to walk right now. They can't take 2 steps without falling flat on their face. I don't know if they will ever get it, but I see enough effort at things things they've never done before that in season improvement seems reasonable rather than just being wishful thinking like in years past.

Whats even a bigger joke is the owner doesn’t even give two shiets about the basketball team until football season is over

I'm torn on this, because if we fire him, he can get another job and frick over some other fan base either in the NBA or some place else, and I have too much respect for the game to wish an Alvin Gentry on ..... well.....anyone

Ever notice how there is no penalty in the NBA for coaches failing?

This is certainly not 100% Gentry. If I give you two slices of bread, day old cheese, and a big ball of crap, are you going to eat a shite sandwich or just eat the two slices of bread and be unfulfilled?

Gee, op, if you were the coach and you lost two starters, hill and rondo, would you have this team clicking? You have a retired pg and no one who would start at sf on any other top 7 team in west.

How can you fire someone that is performing exactly how anyone with basketball sense expected, yet was hired anyway?

I’m actually not low on Gentry currently cause he appears to be getting out of the way and letting Finch do his thing. The Davis and Cousins pairing together has actually been the one bright spot this season.

Problem comes if Finch gets an opportunity to be a HC and we’re back to square one.

That's a few years off at least. Kenny Atkinson was the hot offensive assistant name getting thrown around for HC jobs for 2-3 years before he finally got a job offer from one of the worst teams in the league. I don't know how much Gentry has left in the tank, but you can probably string one or maybe both Finch/Erman along hoping for the shot at their first gig being a playoff team with 2 HOFers instead of a team in a terrible rebuild situation.
