2He's the kind of big we need, and by all accounts he was a good teammate
1. He can space (36% career 3pt shooter)
2. He can rebound and defend well enough
3. He shouldn't cost anywhere near max money
4. He would fit well next to our bigs

Did he get paid that much? I remember thinking it was weird how little he was willing to receive from them in comparison to what I thought he would get here. It's home for him so I get it.
I see some reports saying 80 million but many others are saying between 5.7 and 7.5 million per season. Didn't realize he won MVP and signed an extension so the dream of him returning is definitely dead

Wikipedia said it was 3 years 26 million euros which would be about $30 million. I did see mentions where he signed an extension but I also saw reports where he voluntarily took a 70% paycut for COVID.
