He was on AD to the Celtics for months before that.

Crews gets blamed on this board as much as white people blame Obama. He never said the Celtics. He predicted the Lakers.

McNamara is a clown but I trusted his sources. I still think he has a source, but I think he puts off a lot of his opinions as “inside info.”

He game away looking like a pretty big moron on this whole deal. He was adamant that Tatum was being offered. He talked down the Lakers for months. He was adamant that the trade wouldn’t happen this weekend. And so on.

Not necessarily but mixing politics into a sports forum is a mistake on my part. That’s a bad way to start the conversation. However, some of you guys are unreal. He’s an a hole with a high opinion of himself but he does have good sources. You kinda gotta meet him halfway. Hearing pretty legit inside info with some of his condescending bs is a lot better than some of these 2k trades and fletch tweets.

Tbh I wonder if he lost his Pels source at some point post Griffin.

I'm sure he still has contacts around the league to get a little inside info, but he was pretty off on a lot of shite. Idk. Maybe it's just that fluid and maybe his source wasn't as willing to give up info to anyone during the hard negotiation phase.

Another problem I see is people conflating his opinion on a situation and whatever inside info he has. I've seen a few times he's clearly giving his own personal opinion on something and people bring it back here and frame it as something that's going to happen or its something the pelicans believe / agree with / etc.

He said he never wanted it to be the Celtics bc he was really a fan of Tatum's game after Boston was eliminated from the playoffs.

Prior to that, he predicted the Celtics would be the landing spot for months.

Like before we met with AD and actually started fielding offers? And before the lakers got the #4 pick? Things changed. Look, I'm not a crewz apologist. But he still called it fairly early

Certainly a deal can change as everything is fluid. However, he did take a very hardline stance basically telling other posters they were stupid for talking about other possibilities, including the Lakers. I seem to recall he once told people that it was 95% Celtics and 5% Knicks and they should not waste their time on talking about other possibilities. Not a big deal as I think we all know things can change, but his hardline stance is probably why people remember it.

Exactly, so knowing that a fluid situation can change, it should go without saying but here I am I guess having to say to you that you probably should say with 100% conviction that AD was going to Boston, no?

Fwiw, I simply posted a fact. I'm not sure why into your weird Obama rant.

All I did was post what Crewz has stated in the past, before he went in on AD to the Lakers.

What he told us for months about Boston was not correct. That's not a shot at Crewz, nothing of the sort. It's just a fact.

I don't think it was that fluid.

The Lakers always had the best offer.

The reported offer before the trade deadline was Ingram, Ball, Kuzma, Hart, Zubac, taking back Solomon Hill's contract and two first round picks.

This offseason the trade removed Kuzma and taking back Solmon Hill's contract in exchange for an additional first round pick and swap rights in two other drafts.

Rob being much smarter than Magic realized the additional draft capital traded was worth it to keep Kuzma and not take Solomon Hill's contract back.

It was a great trade for both teams and the Pelicans did the right thing in waiting as the Lakers pick got better and they could hear from Boston. Reports I have read is Boston did offer Tatum but that was it. Tatum, Smart, and a pair of protected first rounders. They never included the Memphis pick and Tatum in the same deal. They also never included Brown in a Tatum deal either.

It probably changed a lot when Klutch said AD wouldn't re-sign with anyone but LA publicly
