I had a terrible thought recently. I dont think there is one player in the history of New Orleans professional basketball that will be known for playing basketball in New Orleans.

I think the only possibility would David West but he played for other teams for the last 7 years of his career, winning 2 championships with a super famous dynasty. A lot of people outside of NO will remember that or maybe even the Pacers 4 year stretch (He played twice as many playoff games with the Pacers than the Hornets and averaged 4 more minutes/game with them too.)

Who is the best player that will be remembered as a New Orleans Hornet/Pelican at this point?

exactly. 98% of the response will be Dan Dickau or Speedy.

At the rate Davis gets injured, it may be AD because he might only last one or two more years in the NBA.

But David West is who came to mind for me.

Fun fact: If we end up re-signing NAW, Kira, Lonzo, Hart, Hayes, and Zion (and have BI until the end of his contract) They would all pretty much be in the top 10 of the longest tenured Pelicans/ Hornets.

Its almost like trading for young players to develop and drafting every year can help stabilize your team.

The only answer to this question is Pete Maravich. Everyone else is a distant second.
