New Orleans Pelicans assistant Jamelle McMillan is joining the Phoenix Suns’ coaching staff, a source tells @TheUndefeated. The son of Indiana Pacers head coach Nate McMillan is one of the youngest assistants in the NBA at 29 years old.

I don't know how big of a loss this is as he was a bit of a lower level assistant, but he seemed really good.

He seemed really smart to me when I heard him speak. I'm assuming he's getting a bit of a promotion

The guy is going to be a HC in the league one day. Well earned promotion I’m sure.

It's good that they let him interview for HC jobs, it makes denying permission for a lateral move seem reasonable. But keeping him around might cost some more money. Yet another reason the team will probably try to avoid the tax again.

New Raptors coach Nick Nurse was an assistant coach under Finch on Great Britain's Olympic team in 2012 and naturally had strong interest in trying to bring Finch and his offensive stylings onto his bench in Toronto

Is this a tryout for the staff (to replace MacMillan)?
