Anybody see the beginning of the Lakers / Sixers game?
Sideline reporter said he interviewed Magic pregame. Said he asked Magic if the Pelicans negotiated in good faith and he said flatly "no they did not. But it's done and we have to move on."

Such a dumb narrative with the "bad faith negotiating". Their offer was trash and that's why there wasn't any negotiating to do.

It’s a dumb question. It’s under the premise that we have to negotiate with them, and there is such a thing as negotiating on bad or good faith.

It also leaves the Lakers completely off the hook for their tampering.

Lakers are trying to shove us under the bus so that we become "hard to deal with" sellers driving the market down.

Issue is the big teams who are contending for the trade aren't run by imbeciles.

Did he say the same thing about the Pacers and Spurs when he lowballed them too?

When you make a major PR push for a player, you better be willing to pay a premium for them rather than be left holding your dick in your hand.

He said we didn't negotiate in good faith. If they wanted to give us their players, we should not have negotiated with them at all. I don't care if they give us the whole team besides LeBron. We can sign guys like that off the street except for Ball and I don't want any part of him. Deal with the Celtics unless the Knicks get the #1 pick.

I know exactly how Magic feels, I didn't think the Porsche dealership I went to negotiated in good faith either when I tried to trade in my old civic, a beat up minivan and an old ford ranger str8 up for a new 911....

The only issue I see with how the Pelicans negotiated with the Lakers is that Davis is represented by Rich Paul who as we know represents Lebron James as well.

If Davis feels the Lakers were willing to offer seven player and six draft picks for him and the Pelicans said “no” he could wait until the offseason and say that no matter who trades for him he is signing with the Lakers in a year.

That would pull the top 5 pick the Knicks could offer and Tatum of the table from the Celtics.

So did they expect us to just give AD to them because they wanted him? That’s an honest question too.

LBJ forms Klutch.
LBJ goes to Lakers
AD signs with LBJ/Klutch
AD says he won’t resign and wants to be traded
LBJ tampers
Lakers put out there that Pels won’t take their call
Pels take call and Lakers offer everything and give us deadline to respond.
Pels don’t respond.

How are the Pels the bad guy here? Screw Magic and LBJ for starting a game they couldn’t win. They tried to put pressure on the Pels through the media. Didn’t work. Go cry somewhere else.

“No”

The Pelicans did the right thing in not trading him.

They should have got ahead of the story and said the Lakers don’t have enough unless Lebron is involved and then it would have gone away.

"Dell, did the Lakers initiate the AD trade process in good faith?"

No, they tried to force a trade of our player by having his agent poison our well."

An interesting question would be what if the Lakers fall apart and then get lucky in the lottery? Could they get back into the AD sweepstakes?

I still think Bos and NYK would have better packages, but it would make things interesting

Not sure it is bad faith when the Pelicans put out a press release saying they would honor AD's request on their timeline and then publicly stated that unless they were blown away by an offer before the deadline, they had no intent of trading him prior to the deadline.

re: Anybody see the beginning of the Lakers / Sixers game?
Pels said from the very begining that they wanted to take this to the offseason.

Pels said from the begining for a trade to happen at the deadline they would have to be blown away.

Pels held onto their trade piece(refuse to call him a player) and Lakers didnt make their best offer.

Bad Faith is everything that was done behind closed doors like Lebron taking AD to dinner after a game.

Bad Faith is not passing on an offer that you dont think measures up to the value of your asset.

re: Anybody see the beginning of the Lakers / Sixers game?
The Lakers ending up back in the discussion pretty much means that Boston and the Knicks shite the bed in their offers OR that the Lake Show has somehow managed to acquire very good assets we want.

And it's far more likely the former happens than the latter.

OR the Lakers have found other teams that like their assets and the Pels like the assets from team 3

Not likely, but possible if that miracle happens
