Don't know why we are willing to hold off on this. Why is it our problem?

quote:

Luckily for the Lakers, those three other teams -- the New Orleans Pelicans, Washington Wizards and Atlanta Hawks -- would reportedly cooperate if Leonard doesn't make his free agency decision soon. Per ESPN:

"League sources told ESPN's Bobby Marks that the Pelicans, Hawks and Wizards are expected to cooperate with the Lakers if Leonard is still undecided by noon on Saturday. The date was agreed upon initially in the Lakers' and Pelicans' deal sending Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and Josh Hart and three first-round picks for Davis. The deal was based on the Lakers using the $32 million in cap space created on a max free agent, such as Leonard or on other players available. If the Pelicans, Hawks and Wizards do not agree to delay the date to make the trade official past Saturday should Leonard remain undecided, the Lakers' cap space would shrink to $30 million and Los Angeles would be able to offer Leonard only a four-year deal worth $127 million compared to the four-year, $138 million contract they can offer with $32 million available in cap space."

I'm sure we're expected to do a solid for the Lakers after fricking them so thoroughly on the trade.

But there are limits. This trade being held up is going to hold up a LOT of teams we have dealt with or who have dealt with the Hawks.

I think we think they have no chance of getting Kawhi

Because they don’t. If he doesn’t decide by 12 he will miss out on millions. Seems like the raptors already won

Lakers are going to get nothing and like it. AD and lebron are going to miss 40 games combined this year

These are the same fricktards that forced us to play AD this year after his trade demand

We will do what we’re told unfortunately bc the big market teams like the Lakers own the league office

Apparently all teams involved have agreed to cooperate.

I don't know if this is one of those common courtesy things that teams do if they want to maintain a working relationship with other GMs or something. But that's the only thing I can think of because I don't understand us cooperating at all

The same “fricktards” also said “Zion should sit out the rest of college bc the NCAA doesn’t have the player’s best interest and don’t risk an injury if you aren’t getting paid,” after he blew out his shoe. 4 months later the EXACT same MSM talking heads were saying “Zion should stay at Duke another year” after we won the #1 pick.

Why can't this dude just make up his damn mind where he's gonna play. Its not like being a free agent snuck up on him. Just tired of hearing about him.

Agreed

Only thing I can see, there was little talked about reports in the days after the trade that we were willing to be flexible with the date. We obviously didn't think it would come down like this, but if we agreed to that, we're just sticking to our word at this point.

If we agreed to a hard date of 7/6, then I have no clue WTF we're doing.

Sounds right. No reason to be labeled "unreasonable" and then it comes back to bite when needing a favor in future.

Hard to label a team unreasonable by making them stick to the terms of the trade. Not our fault they couldnt get their shite together

The trade won't be delayed without an extra incentive for all other parties involved, specifically the Pelicans

I could be missing something but how doesn't this domino effect the rest of the league? Like without the AD trade are we able to trade for Favors? If not, what does that do for the Bogdanovic signing? Would all these teams affected be ok being stuck in limbo?

Another piece of evidence pointing to the league encouraging our cooperation.

We should agree to this only if more compensation is given. If not, screw them.
