He’s always struggled with the consistent rebounding for us. One of the indicators of how out of shape he is. He dedicates his energy solely on offense and can’t play both sides of the ball at a high level

It’s hard to get rebounds when the ball isn’t going off the rim.

A player not getting rebounds can sometimes be by coaches design.
They could be telling him to leak back out immediately after a shot to transition to defense or to run ahead on offense.
