Hey I had a great time. I didn't have pricks trying to grab my boobs like damn near every single woman who got up on a guys shoulders and I was able to avoid the giant mosh pits where people were straight up getting grabbed and thrown in against their will. I've never seen anything like that before or since.

Just saying that those riots were basically caused by the shows organizers being total shite at their jobs and them using Jimmy's SSB at the end of the show like that was the cherry on top of the most corporate frick you I've ever been part of.

so the legacy acts are

santana
john fogerty
john sebastian
dead & co
david crosby
country joe
canned heat
hot tuna (jorma and jack)

thats pretty good considering the rest are retired or dead. not sure who else is even active now

i wont be going but overall thats a pretty good lineup (less the rappers)

I don't think it's enticing but I don't think it's that bad either considering what organizers will need in order to draw a large crowd. It's not like they can trot out a bunch of songwriters and great guitarists and expect 18-30 year olds to come from across the country for it.

I just looked at the lolla lineup and I have no fricking idea who two of the headliners are.

It's basically an Instagram event imo.

The organizers take advantage of a combination of old peoples' nostalgia and stupid rich kids to sell tickets for an outrageous price. The lineup is designed for exactly that. It's like a faux-hippy Fyre Festival without the logistical issues.

It seems to me to run counter to what the original show has come to stand for, which is too bad, but that's the world we live in.

Take that same lineup and replace the name “Woodstock” with Austin City Limits, Hangout, or Bonnaroo...would anyone be able to tell the difference?
Hangout could never afford that. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is the last Hangout.

Friday and Saturday are good but nothing special. Sunday is hot garbage except for a couple of artists

That's what I was thinking...But the thing is, this is Woodstock. Don't get me wrong, I'd go to Friday or Saturday, but where are the really huge acts that you'd expect to headline an event as big as this? This just looks like an average ACL, Coachella, Bonnaroo lineup.

Woodstock 94 was the best

Green Day Mud Fight.

I taped this on VHS and watched this probably 1000 times, this is the reason I got into green day at 11 years old.

Love it.

If you haven't seen the 94 mud fight, watch this link, it's classic, epic

fun fact: at the end of this clip, Mike gets knocked the frick out by a bodyguard thinking he was a fan on-stage and it knocks a tooth out

And sure...........Robert Plant........but he is terrible if not with Zep.

I wouldn't exactly say terrible but definitely not Zepplin. I took my wife to see him and his band last summer in Atlanta and for aging fogies like us it wasn't that bad. Some of the songs were kind of out there though

But no doubt, the days of him strutting around belting out squeeze my lemon are long, long gone. I mean, the dude is 70.

Speaking of squeezing the lemon, Plant and Zepplin at their peak

Woodstock 50 has been cancelled. Organizers released the following statement. "We don’t believe the production of the festival can be executed as an event worthy of the Woodstock Brand name... We believe this is the most prudent decision for all parties involved."

no shite, why you think it couldn't live up? could it be that Jay-Z Miley Cyrus, Chance the Rapper and Pussy Riot were the biggest names?

if that lineup is the best “peace and love, music is awesome, let’s party” idea they could come up with...well, we suck. The sad thing is I’m sure you could put Woodstock over in England , actually cater to what the Europeans want, and come 100x closer to the original than anything they could do stateside.
