With the success of 2018 Halloween, how long before other classics are remade?

Child’s Play already got a twist.

Who is next? I think we are long overdue for A Nightmare on Elm Street or Friday the 13th. A new Candyman is coming too. Maybe another Scream but with a different set of characters? What horror classic is dying to get remade?

Halloween (2018) isn't really a remake. It's a reboot of the franchise that still keeps the original film as canon.

Did they ever stop remaking them?

Not that long overdue, both of those reboots are within the last decade. They both made money but nothing like Halloween.

Friday the 13th won’t happen for a long time as the rights to the films and Jason Voorhees are tied up in a court battle between the writer of the original Friday the 13th and the director.

The rights to A Nightmare On Elm Street recently reverted back to Wes Craven’s estate. No telling if they will ever be interested in bringing it back.

There really is no excuse not to have Jason terrorizing teens in the woods. Unlike Freddy & Michael Myers the F13 formula is simple. Nudity, gore, Jason. It’s a damn shame that because of copyright the franchise is in limbo a la Tales from the Crypt.

The Nightmare on Elm Street remake wasn't half bad. I liked the plot twist that turned out to not be a twist after all, where it was implied for much of the film that Freddy was innocent and that's why he was killing the kids of the parents who murdered him.

But Robert Englund has mentioned maybe playing Freddy 1 last time. Now that would be the remake I'd want to see. You can change actors who portray Michael and Jason, but to me there is only one Freddy.
