It will likely be the best of the year. Only thing with a chance of topping it is Shape of Water

For some reason, movies with the word river in the title tend to be good movies.

Bridge Over The River Kwai
A River Runs Through It
Mystic River
Red River

Although I'm sure there are a few stinkers out there with the word in the title.

Just got back.

I thought it was a little heavy handed, a little clumsy, but it was better than Hell or High Water. Good casting, great locations, not the best script though. Camera work was middling. Editing so-so.

I'm glad that there are people out there that still tell stories that resonate with me, but Sheridan would do well to trust his audience, and dial it back.

Seems a little early to make that proclamation

I'm pretty sure I'll like Three Billboards more. McDonagh hasn't failed me yet.

Thoroughly enjoyed this movie. It's not perfect, but sometimes a movie is so good and authentic that I don't notice its flaws. I hate shaky camera work, but I didn't notice it at all. Acting is superb, and Taylor Sheridan continues to write great scripts. A very good directorial debut on his part.

My favorite movie of the year and I was a big Dunkirk fan (I know for many that's a top 5 movie.)

Great story telling. I hardly noticed the shaky camera work but it was barely noticeable I was so drawn into the story.

Just got back. (MoviePass #7 for September).

Thought the locations and the soundtrack were on point. This was likely the first time Jeremy Renner didn't annoy me.

As the credits were rolling, I was trying to explain to my wife who Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds were in the 90s,bexause the music reminded me of him. For good reason, apparently.

just picked up the blu ray and watched it tonight. really good movie! i missed it in theatres but at least it gave me something to do before bed tonight.

the setting was awesome, the main characters were great (villains not so much), and the pacing was good. i'm guessing not as many people saw this because of the smaller budget but it has to be one of the top 10 films of the year

Watched last night, loved it. Definitely captured a lot of the feeling toward native Americans up there.

I need to watch the end again, starting from when they got to the drilling site.

Taylor Sheridan may be my favorite screenwriter right now

I loved loved loved Wind River and hate that it didn't get a bigger studio push

Just checked this out today. While not flawless it’s a dang good movie.

I think the few flaws it did have were because it was Sheridan’s first big time directing effort.

He didn’t direct sicario or Hell or high water.

He just writes very poignant striking scripts that have great scenes. The investigation could have been fleshed out a little bit in my opinion but those last few scenes were so good.

The shootout scene and everything after it were right up there with the ending of sicario to me. Very good movie.

My only issue with the ending was the rapist guys acting being kind of comedic
