Because the liberal TV company (I think NBC)

Did not want to showcase how America actually works. Family, Religion, AMERICA, Sports, Dinner at the table, etc

I’ve been binge watching this show.. This show is actually about the average, middle class family.

The MSM did not want us to see this show so they never promoted it like they would Modern Family (like they did)

So the network that greenlit, produced, and paid for a show about small town American life that ran for 5 seasons and won numerous awards did it all in hopes that no one would watch it. You people are fricked in the head.

Didn’t it have more to do with it switching times and networks? Even still, it was a moderate hit at the time it originally aired and has become a very popular and beloved show in the streaming era.

You blame the tv company and then immediately admit that you don’t know which company aired the show.

Yeah it feels like they should've thought about the senior thing at first.

There were two real reasons:
1. a lack of leadership continuity at NBC. During this time, the company was a revolving door of program executives and CEOs. Every year or two, they would come in and try to "shake things up" and kill off shows their predecessor had come up with. With Friday Night Lights, they kept bouncing it around different time slots. At one point, they even had the bright idea to air it on friday nights at 7:00pm during the fall, competing with, you know, ACTUAL HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL!!!

2. The writers strike really messed with the show's continuity in season two, forcing the writers to scramble to more or less ret-con the plots in the show in season 3. In addition, post-writers strike led to networks being more risk averse to 1 hour dramas and they cut the budget and number of episodes significantly from season 1 to later seasons.

They never thought it was going to succeed there. It was sent there to die.

Because it happens sometimes (see Arrested Development). I can tell you it wasn't because of the imaginary bullshite in your post.

Also many people like this show of all political persuasions, but congrats on being a conspiratorial moron.

The network hated FNL.

They gave it the red headed step child slot for airing... Friday nights.

They didn't promote it.

OP is correct.

Anyone who disagrees likes Commie Chinese Cock in their butthole.
