The Vong storyline wouldn’t fare well. Changed the galaxy too much. Thrawn would’ve been awesome and he’s even canon again.

I just assume he’s drunk the third of the time he posts on here. Either that or he’s quickly typing instead of working whatever he does at Disney World

Bc they’re cowards. And all the mongoloid blowback to the prequels Bc they were too “plot centric” and “political” convinced Disney that what people wanted was practically a literal reboot of the OT.

Of course that isn’t what people wanted. People are stupid and don’t know what they want. They wanted a new story that felt connected thematically to the OT and was well-acted and well/written. Which Thrawn especially would have been

Would have been really cool if Thrawn was the commander of that fleet the Emperor has. Since it was all in the outer realm.

Thrawn might still be a viable villain, so long as they don't kill him off in Rebels.

They couldn’t do Thrawn because it contradicts the diversity message by having an Uncle Tom essentially taking over the Empire.

With blue skin, I'd argue that Thrawn is a person of color.

Chiss, please.

That’s the point. There was a clear racism element to the Empire which Disney loves to push. The Empire is for humans only. All other “alien” sentient species are used for is as bounty hunters or slaves. The officer core is supposed to be all humans. I believe this goes back to the fact that the Seperatists during the clone wars were non-humanoid and that the huts ran organized crime outside of Imperial control/taxation.

The idea that in such a racist fascist oppressive enterprise that a person of color, despite all of the institutional racism designed to keep him out, could rise through the ranks to be the the top dog by his own skill and hard work, AND lead the evil racist empire to victory over the diverse rebels is not the narrative disney wants to push.

Thrawn beat unimaginable bigotry and racism to reach the top only to be the villain.

What makes this question funny is Kathleen Kennedy complained that unlike other properties like Hame of Thrones, Star Trek, or Lord of the Rings, Star wars didnt have a large amount of stories to draw ideas from. As if the hundreds of books, comics, and video games from the 80s, 90s, and 00s never happened.

it’s like a gangster killing all the witnesses and then claiming there’s no witnesses so they must be innocent

Was hoping for that in the Mandalorian. The Mandalorian is taking place in the Outer Rim in 9ABY which is the same year Thrawn comes back to attack the new republic forces. Would love to see them cross paths.

Could have introduced the Chiss as a new threat. Instead of Kylo Ren, they could have gone down the Jacen Solo/Darth Caedus story.

They should have re-cast Luke, Leia, Han, Lando and gone forward with the Thrawn Triology.

Thrown is out the window for the foreseeable future. I think they need to go Old Republic for a bit
