Prime Apollo?

Clubber Lang?

Drago?

I'm going Prime Apollo.

We never saw it

Obviously “Prime” Apollo was the only one he didn’t win out of those options.

But I always thought Lang was the baddest dude he fought. Rocky was a better fighter by that point too and Rock from the original wouldnt have even gone the distance with Lang imo.

Apollo in his actual prime probably would have been tougher, but even in the original Creed was already past his real prime.

Prime Apollo. Rocky even admits in Creed that the only he eventually beat Apollo was because Apollo had passed his prime by that time.

Creed 3... the return of Clubber Lang. Mr T needs work and Sly takes care of his friends.

Cancer. Rock almost refused to step in the ring and battle it.

Apollo was essentially a bigger, stronger fictionalized Muhammad Ali. He was undefeated over like 40+ fights in Rocky... The perfect fighter as Rocky even later said.

Creed was never even knocked down before Rocky and he lost by one second in tbe rematch, then retired. He's the only one that had the resume and the legacy out of all the Rocky fighters.

Edit: just looked it up, Apollos record in Rocky was 48-0 with 47 KOs.... That's incredible.

Even if he was fictional, Apollo was basically an undefeated heavyweight champ in the second golden age of heavyweight boxing

Lang was a brute, a brawler, and got exposed, although he was a badass. He was basically mike Tyson beforeuke Tyson. Go against a skilled fighter and more than 1 rd and it's over.

Drago was a Roided up soviet creation who killed an old fighter and lost to Rocky on home turf. He had like 2 pro fights.

Apollo was the best...by far.

I gotta say Drago. Drago was at least 4" taller and 50 pounds heavier. He was absolutely demolishing people in the ring.

Which reminds me, I love all the Rocky movies, but he was really not a great boxer. He literally won almost all of his fights because plot. He would take a ridiculous amount of headshots, yet still outlast his opponent. The absurd amount of punches Rocky withstood cannot be humanly possible at all.

That’s so absurd, but awesome

Yeah Creed is supposed to be Ali, so that would make him the best. Strength, speed, skill, he had it all.

I do think he was already past his prime in the original though. Just the fact that he had 48 professional fights shows how long he’d been around.

Had Rocky fought him in the middle of his career, he’d be the best going away.

But comparing Creed in 76 to Lang in 82 I think Lang, who you do a good job of comparing to peak Tyson, gets the edge.

Interesting that Tyson wouldn’t come on the scene for another 5 years or so. Obviously his demeanor was different but just the shear intimidation factor and physicality is all Iron Mike.

Apollo in his prime would have worked Drago and Clubber.

It’s like Rocky said in Creed, he got Apollo because Apollo was fading.

Gonna have to disagree with you there. Apollo was always the showman, Drago wouldve beat him to death while he was more concerned in playing to the crowd instead of fighting.

But Creed only did this because it was supposed to be an exhibition

Lang, when he had the Eye of the Tiger.

Creed was great, but he had lost the Eye of the Tiger by the time he fought Rocky. Just imagine how good he was in his prime.
