Me: Once Walt realized JP was going to live, he told him about Jane to put so much hate in JP's heart for him that it would provide motivation to survive whatever comes in hopes of getting revenge and thus help him survive/escape.
Wife: Walt blames JP for Hank and he just wanted to hurt him.

Walt obviously wanted to kill him on the inside. Jesse always blamed himself for killing her anyways, was just icing on the cake for pinkman being a rat.

Jesse already knows this. Walt went with something he knew for a fact that Jesse was clueless about.
