Timothy Olyphant on the strength of Justified and Deadwood, amongst other key supporting roles in Scream 2 (1997), Go (1999), A Man Apart (2003), and The Girl Next Door (2004). Also leading roles in Catch and Release (2006), Hitman (2007), A Perfect Getaway (2009), and The Crazies (2010), and he played the main antagonist, Thomas Gabriel, in Live Free or Die Hard (2007).
Taylor Kitsch on the strength of Friday Night Lights and in films such as X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), Battleship (2012), John Carter (2012), Savages (2012), and Lone Survivor (2013), The Grand Seduction (2014), American Assassin (2017), Only The Brave (2017), 21 Bridges (2019).

This doesn't seem like a fair comparison. Olyphant has a better resume, imo. He has been around a lot longer.
Has Kitsch ever been the main protagonist in his own TV show? I don't count FNL.

Kitsch was really good in that show about the branch dividians

You left out Waco for Kitsch which is probably his best role

Is this a serious question? How can you even come close to comparing the two?
Olyphant outclasses Kitsch at every step.
You left out a few great turns in This Is Where I Leave You, Santa Clarita Diet, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood...I mean, Olyphant has been everywhere and done it all.
Honestly, Raylan Givens alone outshines any and everything Kitsch could ever dream to do. The rest of Olyphant's career is just icing on the cake.
EDIT: How could I leave out his best role? The man Pam should have married. Danny Cordray.
Also, you mentioned it, but if no one has ever watched The Perfect Getaway it's a fantastic, underrated movie and he's awesome in it. Everyone in that movie is great. Steve Zahn and Milla Jovovich also knock it out of the park.

Olyphant by less than I would have thought now that I look at the resumes. If I had to say, Olyphant sort of breezes through on natural talent and being the ultimate team player for the production teams, whereas Kitsch is working his arse off to be at his entertaining best.

I've heard Taylor Kitsch's name, but have no idea what he looks like. Olyphant's character in Live Free or Die Hard leads me to believe he could be a Bond villain.

Kitsch has no charisma whatsoever and Olyphant oozes it, and Olyphant is simply a better actor so it's really not even close

I thought Olyphant was a joke of an actor around Catch and Release and Die Hard, but he fit Hit Man pretty well.
Then Justified came around and totally redeemed him and I’ve enjoyed him in everything since.
Kitsch has had also had decent roles but I feel that he’s never met his potential in a role although Waco was a solid performance.

I really really really like Kitsch, but Oliphant is in that upper league with Walton Goggins and Brian Cox. Whatever Oliphant is in, he makes it better.

Had you never seen The Girl Next Door?
Oliphant was on fire in that movie.

Danny is The Man, and, he would not even date a dorky fat chick like Pam, much less marry her. Marry? Please. He didn't even call her back.

I feel like I like Kitsch more than most on this board but
Olyphant has a far superior resume and has better range as an actor. That's no diss on Kitsch either. Olyphant is a guy who I feel is fairly underrated and should be a much more known actor than being the "I know that guy" type actor he seemed to be pegged as.

I have the same belief about Sam Rockwell...though he's definitely bigger.

This thread makes me want to watch Deadwood for the 14th time.
