When you were a kid, was there a better villain entrance than Shredder's in TMNT (1990)?

I can't think of any. He was already an iconic villain for younger Gen-Xers and older Millennials thanks to the animated show from the late-80s, but seeing him come alive in a live action movie was just a step up. The cinematography, the music, the dialogue...all of it was freaking awesome. As a kid, this scene always gave me chills and it still remains iconic to me in the present day.

It’s pretty good...
-10 points deducted for the “I am your father” line, though.

Not a kid movie, but I always liked Hannibal Lector's

The problem with the OP is that there really isn’t much to compare it to. Most children’s live-action movies in the span of 1987-1993 didn’t really go as dark as TMNT (1990) did. The only other one I can compare it to is Judge Doom’s intro in Roger Rabbit.

The first 2 movies I ever saw in the theater were Batman and TMNT at 6 and 7. I can still watch them now and go right back to how I felt watching it then. That Shredder scene and the Batman intro are just badass I don't care how old you are

TMNT is the highlight of childhood movies for me.
My dad took me to it because he knew I’d be excited. The. We went as a family. Then my grandparents took me. Then my cousin came in town to visit and my grandparents took both of us.
Didn’t mind 2-4th viewings one bit.

As far as kid movies go, the Wicked Witch of the West has a pretty badass entrance.

Loses major points for making them allies who work for Shang Tsung.

Not exactly an entrance and more of a break out but the way the Fratellis are introduced in The Goonies kicked arse.

I was born in 85 and the first few movies I remember seeing in the theater were Batman, Ghostbusters 2, and TMNT.
That Joker intro…

Gary Oldman in The Fifth Element. For that matter Gary Oldman in any movie where he plays the villain.
