I remember being young and watching the first Independence Day at the theater.

That scene where they are cutting into the head of the alien with the scalpel and it just flies open nearly killed me lol

I must have flown 5 feet out of my chair.

The ex wife and I went to see What Lies Beneath at the theater. There's a scene where someone is walking through the house with no background noise whatsoever then all of a sudden there is someone behind a door. I won't lie, I jumped about 3 feet out of my seat.

I was 7 when i saw the house on haunted hill with Vincent Price. I was too young for that horror movie.

Same. Looking back the movie is so terrible, but that scene caught teenage me so off guard I think I hit the ceiling.

In the flashback when they open the closet in The Ring to see the dead teenager. Got me pretty good in the theater when it came out.

A more recent one was The Haunting of Hill House when Nell shows up in the car. It was fantastic because the whole series to that point was anti-jump scare horror so it was unexpected.

I'm a jumpy muthafricker by nature, so there are far too many to keep track of, but I remember watch Friday the 13th as a kid and having a few jump-out-of-my-chair reactions to it.

All good. Just hadn't seen you in a while. As for derailing the thread, you can just delete it now.

No worries. I miss it, but what I miss I don't think exists anymore, if that makes sense...so it's gone one way or the other. Just decided to walk away on my own.

The Haunting of Hill House season 1 when the two sisters were driving in the car. I almost had a heart attack. Scared the absolute shite out of me. I had a very strong physical reaction to that moment. From the pit of my stomach I yelled back at the tv, and I NEVER yell at stuff like that. It caught me so off guard.
