Do adults really want to watch kids try to cook? What made the show compelling was that adults
we’re chasing a dream and this could be their big break to run a restaurant to get a job in the kitchen or run their own catering company.

These kids have their whole lives ahead of them. Anyways I was a fan of the original master chef on Fox

I thought MasterChef was home cooks?

It was home cooks hoping to do it for a living

Those kids can cook better that 90% of adults. It’s pretty fascinating to watch.

They’ve been alternating seasons for a while.

It'll be back to adults next season.

Try? Those kids could cook circles around you.

Anyone good enough to be on Masterchef could go into the industry if they wanted to.

That doesn't necessarily make them entertaining to watch. I love cooking shows but will instantly turn the channel if it is a kids cooking show.

Sure....as a line cook.

I've enjoyed the Jr series.

The mental library of vast techniques/recipes these kids have to call upon shocks me every show. How does an 8 year old from Montana know how to make a meuniere sauce???

If I have one complaint, it's that the judges soften around the kids. Whereas, they will break the soul of an adult contestant who made a sloppy dish and that is far more entertaining.

They sometimes get recipes and instructions beforehand and have classes throughout the competition, but supposedly no access to recipes during the challenge.

The adult version is pure garbage compared to other countries’ versions. Others are genuinely about watching pretty good home cooks grow into accomplished chefs over the course of the season. The judges don’t pit them against each other, belittle the frick out of them, or design rewards so one chef can pick on their mortal enemy.

I prefer the kids version because the judges can’t get fricking absurd.

They teach them how to do it numerous times. Read the behind the scenes of it.
