I have a feeling its more to this story than the klan...i hope its more nuanced than that...i have faith in hbo
The Cavalry seems to be the red herring that they fight as they discover the true mastermind behind everything. At least that’s what the season promo following the episode implied.
Praying that HBO held Lindelof’s feet to the fire and made sure that he had an actual plan this time.

There wasn’t anything political about either one’s actions in the comic.
Another 100% true statement that gets a downvote because it doesn't fit someone's narrative.
That seems to happen a lot lately.

Wondering if they released the journal or if it’s seen as an urban myth in this reality.
If it’s common knowledge, it would undo the peace won by Veidt.

That's how you end up with President Robert Redford.

It’s based on the comic book limited series.

Nonsense, you’ve clearly never read the comic. Veidt’s plan is formulated because he believes the US and USSR are going to engage in a nuclear war. That in of itself is a political motivation and his goal is the liberal utopian fantasy. The vary name of the series is political. Who watches the watchmen is ia political statement. It’s about more than what if superheroes existed in the real world. You probably think Rorschach is the hero, he’s not, just so you know.

So you didn’t watch it.

The music by Reznor was badass. I’ll tune in next week. Has potential.

I'm going to go ahead and pull the SJW eject cord now. I'm sure CNN will be referring to this show as accurate historical news within the week

Ok, this is weird enough to pause and capture in game impressions as I watch.
-Klan bad, apparently
-but why'd they bomb Tulsa? That's a white bread town in 1921
-President Redford? I guess so. But one of the four most important predidents?
-egg yolk smiley sighted.
-why is it raining squid in Oklahoma
-why the frick is there some kind of bear mascot just sitting on the end of a row when the chief briefs the cops
-is every cop basically masked and our main character is a ninja?
-oh. The bear mascot thing is Panda. He's literally wearing a panda head. WTF?
-how the hell does the guy with the silver mask covering his face see?
-ninja cop is straight kidnapping people. Oookay.
-that ring of truth questioning room was... interesting
-noooo, ninja cop. Don't violate his civil rights like that!
-OH GEORGE, NOT THE LIVESTOCK! I'm pretty sure mirror face cop was the one that said that in O Brother...
-bug eyed flamethrowing air thing. Got it.
-weird creepy Jeremy Irons has been sighted
-look at Chief Snooter Tooter over here!
-thirty years of President Redford?!
-bow chicka wow wow wow
-I totally need one of those shotgun headboards
-i don't think lou gossett did it
I kinda liked it but I think HBO went too weird. They're going to run off audience that doesn't know the Watchmen and piss off those who do. That may be a pretty bad miscalculation. Can't wait to see how they move forward.

It has been called "the single worst incident of racial violence in American history."[14] The attack, carried out on the ground and by air, destroyed more than 35 square blocks of the district — at that time the wealthiest black community in the United States, known as "Black Wall Street".

The cops started wearing masks so the terrorists couldnt know their true identity. It stated this or implied it in the show

The characters themselves are not.
The poster I responded to stated that Rorschach was far right and Veidt is far left.
That is not true.
Hell, you could argue the exact opposite. Rorschach was against mass murder to advance peace while Veidt supported it.
The characters themselves aren’t political.

yeah, im sure the character who despised liberals, intellectuals, and operated on a code of moral absolutes didn't have any far right leanings at all.

I enjoyed the episode. You`re nuts if you bounce after this episode, it's going to be a pretty deep story line. The preview after the credits could tell you that even if you were fuming the whole episode bc a black girl was the good guy and white men are the bad guys.
Don Johnson didn't last quite as long as I thought he would.
The score was pretty bad arse.
