I am curious with only 2 episodes left, how they plan on landing the Veidt plot line since it is intended to be a 1 season thing. Seems like we’ve got a long way to go to put him into place to matter to the main plot. Maybe we get a Veidt heavy episode next week?
I'm not sure if I've missed some things along the way but i'm thoroughly lost on his role in this show.

The video Keene makes Looking Glass watch in Little Fear of Lightning should have summed it up for you.

I could see Veidt being Trieus father. They’re both geniuses and that would explain where she got her brains from. Both obsessed with saving humanity too.

If Lady Trieu is supposed to save him who put him up there in the first place? Doesn't make sense if it was Manhattan since he's been locked away in human form of Cal for who knows how long.

There are definitely some parallels to Tales of the Black Freighter which is a comic within the original Watchmen comics. It's about a sailor marooned on an island by pirates and makes it back home by making a raft out of the dead bodies of his shipmates. I believe there was a portion of it in each chapter of the book, just like us getting one scene in each episode.

Just watched the episode. Am I wrong that the elephant could be interpreted as "the elephant in the room" regarding the Dr. Manhattan reveal in the next scenes? Or is that a stretch? Lol

This series just keeps getting better and better.
I was having some trouble with This Extraordinary Being but it was just a rough episode and paid off in An Almost Religious Awe. WOW. Just wow...
The elephant used to store memory because they never forget.
And Angela not asking who Dr.M was definitely told you she already knew. Of course as soon as she showed up back at home it all came clear. There were a lot of hints earlier but it didn’t hit me until then.
Laurie scenes are just gold too.
Oh, and you know I loved the Oysterman Fine Watches In Brooklyn in the flashback (memory?).
Can’t wait for next episode.
I think once this is over I am going to have to binge it to find all the stuff I’ve missed.

Stretch.
How about elephants have the best memories? Huh? They never forget anything? Thus memories might be stored in them as living hosts perhaps?

Y’know the old myth about elephants having great memories?
Also the tube is 2 way in Angela's arm. The elephant is retrieving all her memories for trei which is how she figured out Angela's secrets. She's downloading her brain even as she clears up her father's memories.

I wonder if he did not put himself up there in the first place. Once his role in 11/2 came out he may ave wanted to get away from actual humans. After being on Europa for a while, he have realized it was not such a great idea.

Not my theory but it’s possible that Dr Manhattan put him up there when he became Kal in order to either punish Veidt or prevent him from finding out that Dr Manhattan was back on earth
The “crash” that marked the start of DM becoming Kal was in 2009.
Now Veidt has been officially missing since 2012, however his last public appearance was back in 2007 so the timeline can match up
We’ve seen 4 years already of Veidt on the planet. It’s possible he’s been there longer or we will see more years go by to match up with the current timeline.
Kind of flimsy but they can make it work
He didn’t go missing until 2012 officially, possibly a few year earlier unofficially. The info about him possibly being behind 11/2 has been floated around by the New Frontiersman since the late 80s

Do we know why DM has been disguising himself as Cal?
Posted on 12/4/19 at 11:37 am to DukeSilver
To feel again? To have a semblance of normal life? Cheesy, but may be true.

Another redditer called this plot weeks ago because of the Blue Dildo Agent Blake was using. Based on the plans in the Petey pedia, the name for it was “Excalibar”
Which you can break down to “(My) Ex, Cal Abar”

Yeah reddit went DEEP on this show even matched up Kals knuckle to a shot of DMs knuckle and pointed out the lines match up
Good thing is the writers don’t seem to mind that people guess where the show is going. Unlike some other HBO show that seemed to be determined to create an ending that no one saw coming instead of a good one
