This thread again

I admit I'm fascinated by the mental condition of people who come here to start threads partway through a movie seeking affirmation or direction.

Maybe you should just stick to "Dukes of Hazard" reruns.

Hey now, that was a damn fine show.

I could see why some people wouldn't like this movie. I think I liked it so much because I was just in a certain mood around the time.

Did you go into the movie knowing anything about the Manson ‘family’ and the murders of Sharon Tate and others and the historical context? If not, I can see why the movie lacked meaning for you.

The Manson stuff is a small part of the movie, mostly an afterthought. Sharon Tate could be cut out completely and it wouldn't change anything.

That he 100% believes that a friend of his was killed by Tex Watson or Manson himself. This was after the 1969 murders. His murder is still unsolved, so little evidence that they cant pin it on anyone specific. But if you're hanging around those people and come up dead as a young man..

I totally disagree. It’s the unseen engine that drives the whole movie.

As soon as they introduce Sharon Tate and the proximity of the murder house to Rick Dalton, the Manson murders hang over the audience like the sword of Damocles (to use a Dennis Miller term).

Not enough plot, relevant dialogue, or interesting characters for you? Boring arse post cards aren't really your cup of tea I guess.

Completely disagree

The whole Manson backstory is what kept the suspense up for Pitt's character. Having no idea where or how he was gonna get mixed up with them was, in my opinion, the most interesting part of the movie. Not to mention the ending would have had a completely different feel to it if it was just portrayed as just some random hippies breaking into a house

5/10 so far though this score may improve once I return to watch the rest (not in rush)

You really should just turn it off and not go back to it. Go watch some Bugs Bunny cartoons instead. Not every movie appeals to every person.

Maybe you elitists can spend a few seconds explaining what makes this film so great and what the OP might be missing? Instead of just sitting there trying to act cool. Literally no one has answered his question except to say “wait for the next big CGI laiden film where you can keep an eye on your phone and not miss a beat.” That doesn’t help at all and you don’t come across any smarter because of your response.
