Watching Mayor Of Kingstown…the language is laughable…

Just started season 2 and the profanity, which I never pay attention to, is literally distracting from the story…I mean, why????

I can not say I even noticed a difference. From season 1, or other similar shows.

I enjoyed season 1, however, I thought at times it became extremely slow and did not develop the story the way you would expect during that time.

Watched 3 episodes of season 1. Story is slow. Went to something else, but likely will circle back and try it again.

It gets better. I remember one episode, 4 or 5 and I think to myself, “now that was a good episode”
They get better as the show goes on

I actually noticed this as well
I don’t mind cussing in movies.. I get upset when I see something that looks interesting and it’s only TV14 instead of MA
But my god it’s every single word. It’s just annoying

I did the same. Couple of months back I saw that season 2 was coming out so I watched the rest of season 1. It gets good.
As for the cursing, it’s a show about a bunch of gangsters, convicts, and cops / corrections officers. It’s the kind of language that you’d expect from them.

Season 1 episode 8 had a laughable scene that was intended to be extremely intense.
At the gruesome location of 26 muder victims stood the very serious police commander. He was wearing Corporal stripes and Captain’s bars. I couldn't look at anything else. The first Corporal Captain since Radar O’Reily on MASH.

The dialogue and storyline in Mayor of Kingston are so bad one must question the intelligence, morality and taste of anyone claiming to enjoy it. It is rare that a show can make me question all three, so I suppose that is the one saving grace of Mayor.
Not only is the dialogue so sophomoric but the continuous violence is remarkable for its incredulousness. The homicide rate is higher in Kingstown than in a World War I trench. At the rate people were killing each other in the first two seasons, there will be such population decline to make a third season impossible. Let us pray for no miracles in that regard.
The first episode started reasonably intriguing, but it quickly slipped into violence-profanity porn for the uncultured, uneducated masses who seem to find pleasure in this ridiculous tale. As someone who has had significant dealings with prison ministry, I can tell you the entire show is an tympanic membrane piercing, eye gouging, spirit destroying fraud. Not a single actor provides even a moment of intrigue or satisfaction. It is among the worst television shows ever produced. It makes K-Ville look like gold, so bad is everything about Mayor.

It's over the top, but I suspect that is how inner city conversations tend to go in today's world, as sad as that is.
