I actually remember rage against the machine and creed being on WWE more than Limp Biscuit.

and Rage was on the Pro Skater 2 soundtrack, mighta been 3, while Limp, Creed, Disturbed, and Drowning Pool were quite the album kickers on the WWF Forceable Entry album (kinda rapey title too).

Groping women wasn't really accepted in 1999 either. They probably focused on it because it was apparently bad enough for the singer from The Offspring to mention it while on stage and admonish guys for doing it.

And then told the ladies to start grabbing guys balls. I'm thinking it was a free for all of debauchery.

Not condoning or saying it was acceptable.

So yall really don't know about the socks? This wasn't a Woodstock thing, it was a RHCP thing.

It definitely was. The mid to late 90's was the era where hook up culture became widely accepted and openly talked about.

However, the difference I pointed out from earlier is that 1999 was the only one where a mob rioted and started burning the place down. While RHCP played "Fire" after they were asked by the organizers to help them calm the crowd, lol.

If it was so bad why did RHCP continue to play? Or why did Megadeath go on AFTER them? Probably because they then would have had a real riot on their hands

The mob violence/burning down of the place should be an openly criticized point in evaluating Woodstock '99. But I don't think this documentary gets the diagnosis correct, and it vastly overstates the importance of the riots to the average festival goers' experience - many of whom were planning on leaving that night to begin with, and missed the whole "riot" portion.

Megadeath was scheduled at the ~ the same time on the other stage (over 1 mile away). If you were there you basically looked at the lineup and planned your day based on your priorities.

Here is from the schedule

9:00P - 10:15P: MEGADETH (75 min) - West Stage
8:40P - 10:10P: RED HOT CHILLI PEPPERS (90 min) - East Stage

I was 14 and had just discovered nu metal. I'll regret not going to it until the day I die...

I think documentary was OK but the Coachella deep throating? What the frick was that all about? Ooooh a bunch of pretentious fricks in Cali can put on a made for instagram concert? Nobody give s a shite about the music at coachella. A bunch of narcissists just want to be seen there.

Anybody who couldn't see back in '99 that it was going to be a shitshow, wasn't paying attention. It was basically called Corporatestock 99 before it even happened. Pure Money grab and add miserable conditions. Who'd have thunk it?

I do recall the Chili Peppers wearing socks on their junk on stage, but I feel that swingin’ dicks on stage is a bit much. To each his own...

you should watch the doc. it was towards the end. he's taking the guitar off and the back of the guitar drags across his twig and berries for all to see.

god awful headliners .... Metallica gets a pass because at that point they had been doing it for nearly 20 years. And had talent.

But Korn, Limp B, Kid Rock, DMX and Rage. So gross. And jamming in Jewell, Alanis and Sheryl? Also gross because they were so tired by that year as well.

I imagine if Coldplay, Radiohead and REM were headliners it would have been a different result.

Bring shitty, aggressive bands and get shitty, aggressive fandom. Documentary was an interesting time capsule of heinousness.

What's sad is that music hasn't improved any since then. We're on a 25+ year run of pure garbage, at least as far as what's popular goes.

had forgotten about Moby being Me Too'd by Natalie Portman and others.

Dude had a very public and self-inflicted meltdown over the Portman thing. Pathetic POS.

You know what you’re in for when you see Moby and some fat ugly purple haired bitch dictating societal norms to you.

I have a job that puts me in contact with college students pretty much exclusively, the hook up culture in the 90's is NO WHERE near the hook up culture today. I am SO glad I have 2 boys and not 2 girls.
