I turn my brain off when watching these movies and have loved every single one of them. The first Godzilla trailer with Bryan Cranston was one of the best I’ve ever seen.

The fact that Godzilla could have killed Kong but spared him was epic. Kong leaning sign language was awesome too. Kinda hoped Kong would find other apes in the core. A female one

I couldn’t get into it. May try again. I get it’s mindless entertainment but couldn’t get past some of the acting/writing. Idk

I don't know that Legendary had the full faith they could pull this one off, and while they're certainly pleased with the initial box office weekend , as the story of Kong / Godzilla seems fairly wrapped up.

There was no mid or post credit scene. No ' coming next ' easter egg hint.

I hope, really really hope, they take stock in what worked with the monster battles, what didn't work with the human story, and if they choose to revisit the Monster'verse, take the best of what they've made and use it.

I am astounded that they can't seem to land the human characters or the B and C level subplots, but it wasn't enough to derail the movie.

Godzilla recharging the very weapon Kong used against him was a nice touch. And Mecha-Godzilla really being a Mecha-Ghidorah was clever too, though I think some of the more subtle points of the movie were lost on the general audience.

I mean it's a movie about a giant lizard and a giant monkey so I don't really expect it to be factual

but if a giant hold were to be bored into the earth in a matter of seconds I think it would have an effect on the planet and the fact that was ignored/forgotten by everyone seems off

To be fair, this world features a hollow Earth, with holes already running through it like Swiss cheese, so I don’t think it matters. I’m sure Monarch will just build another base around it.

BUT, can we talk about how Godzilla’s atomic breath BORED A HOLE THROUGH THE EARTH?!?

Again, why does it not kill everything instantly? All it did was singe Kong’s fur

That was kind of my biggest problem. Godzilla could have stood a mile away and turned Kong quite crispy apparently

Hope to live long enough to see a Godzilla movie where the fighter jets fly beyond the arms length of the beast! Just stupid! It is what it is just sit and watch and take for what it is!!

Agreed, opening was good.

Went way down hill from there.

I liked the 2014 film. I've never really liked King kong, and its hard to ignore and look past kong should be 1/4 the size of godzilla.

No way kong would've beat King Ghidorah's arse. Plus, Rodan should've been backing Godzilla.

The fight scenes were great, but the story was terrible. I don't know why they even brought back some of the past characters as they had no real impact to the story. I really liked the last two Godzilla movies but disappointed in this one.
