Stumbled upon Treme while looking through some titles and always wanted to start it, but never got around to it.

What can I expect from the series. How’s the story line and is it believable?

Basically just want to know if it’s worth my time.

TIA

That’s what I was afraid of. I like the thought behind the Katrina aftermath, but I guess they couldn’t write up enough interesting stories.

I actually enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I was going to.

Can’t stand fake Louisiana accents. True Blood was an abortion.

FIFY

I'm a native New Orleanian that loves New Orleans and I still can't recommend Treme.

People just do not at act the way they do in the show. I think the only part they got right was when people were shooting in large crowds

I liked it. If you lived in New Orleans through Katrina, you may appreciate it more than the casual viewer.

There was a scene in one of the later seasons showing people packing up to evacuate before the storm. One character asked "should I bring this with us?" And his wife replied "don't worry about it, we'll be back in a couple of days."

That scene was a punch in the gut for me.

It’s no K-Ville, but the first season is ok.

It watches like a great miniseries that was renewed despite the writers having no idea where to take it. The first season is fantastic with a cohesive storyline that intertwines all of the characters and their stories. Beyond the first season, it’s just a whole lot of meandering nonsense that goes nowhere slowly inner-sparsed with musical performances.

I think the first season is definitely worth watching, but beyond that, not so much. If you don’t like it after about the second episode, it’s not for you.

Great music. Great setting. Amazingly slow burn. It’s not bad. To just something that at times you are going to have to push through.

The best thing to come out of Treme was that one guys long post on here about every scene ending the exact same way

You can thank me for that. I was in the Mardi Gras scene as one of the people hauling arse. I made that scene.

First season was the best, so give it a try and if you don't like it you won't have missed much.
